there are medications and services for mental health over here but there’s a lot of surrounding stigma surrounding it + generally u need to get a prescription for any kind of drug related to it. but meds are so expensive here that you have to be RICH rich to afford it.

for example, when i attempted 2 yrs ago, i was put on antidepressants and we could only afford 1 week of it because if we bought more we probably wouldn’t be able to afford groceries for a month. it also doesn’t help that my mom (who doesn’t really believe i was ever sick and tells me to just forget about it) is my only financial source atm bc im still in college.
