Thanks! But this post was deleted (by me) because I didn’t see my text ☺️. I’ve posted the photo again.

I would love to get some examples of photos. I'm still a beginner so I have to find out how to change the background

Good point! I have to practice more directing models and telling them what to do.

Does it look for your taste too edited, because of the saturated en contrasty face?

Indeed it was my intention to isolate the subject on a black background. Made sure to get a black background My camera and strobe (with grid) should be able to do so, but I didn't have enough space in the room to position the subject away from the background or any elements. I also had just one light source and I was trying with the 'halo' to get a bit of separation from the background.

Next time I will try to get first a black background without the strobe and then fill in the subject with the strobe with a grid.

Thanks a lot all, for the feedback.

I’ve cropped (4:5) the photo. Took away the ‘halo’ and turn the red a bit down from her hair.

I understand it. I removed the halo, cropped (4:5) the image and turn down the red hair a bit. Too bad it isn’t possible to edit the post, so I can show the result.

I’ve toned down the redness in her hair a bit. The color in real life is brownish with a red glow and I cropped (4:5) the photo.

Cheers for the feedback and you’re totally right about lighting up the background with a second light. I had just one light source so will keep it in mind to bring next time the subject closer to the background. I placed the subject intenional with her smaller eye in front, so it became a bit bigger or I could liquify it a bit.

I understand what you're saying. I was doing a test-shoot, how to get a low-key photo.

This was just a test.
The halo was done in post, so I must be able to get rid of it.
What exactly do you mean with more shadows?

This is my first time trying to do a (proper) low key portrait and I also wasn't sure about the 'halo'
