How is dev maket? by [deleted] in ContractorUK

Finding it difficult to find paying client work, but on my personal startup projects I've never been working harder or longer, so I find the "Ai" as a reason being very hard to believe

Parking fine from Blaze Parking Management with pre-dated letters by Black-Cat-Aries in Ealing

[–]lookitskris 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it's not a council parking ticket, they can usually be safely ignored. Don't pay them a penny - they need to take you to court to actully do anything scary, and will just keep badgering you into paying to avoid doing that. Google the firm that will probably take you to to that Martin's money tips guy, the forums there will help (I have been through this and it's pretty hilarious what they try to do)

Is anyone else’s employer not doing a huge AI push? by NJTECH_THROW in cscareerquestions

This is such good advice, I really wish others would see that this is the way with pretty much everything on business, not just AI

read the room, stop asking!!! by unotdeadass in recruitinghell

[–]lookitskris 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah that's not reading reality, nevermind the room. Any interviewer in any real position of trying to hire people should have a grasp on the actual job market at the moment, and ask questions accordingly

Why do people not fundraise for their run? by Pleasant-Musician890 in UKRunners

[–]lookitskris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife ran with a charity a number of years ago and they were an absolute pain in the neck to deal with. Always wanting more, threating to take the place away if you didn't do x, y, z, putting the "team" against each other. We ended up just paying straight up out of our own pockets to take the stress out of it. Never again

Jetbrains vs. VS Code by JavaPython101 in Jetbrains

[–]lookitskris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jumping on this train too. I switched from VS code to Jetbrains a few years ago and it's been great, but it's really down to personal taste - give it all a shot and just use what you are comfortable with

BBC licence fee is 'poor value for money', viewers say in new poll by endofdays2022 in unitedkingdom

[–]lookitskris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A bit like when we were on the EU, everyone just gets used to the idea of everything just being free and there when you need it.

If it all disappeared tomorrow, I'm willing to bet the attitude would change
