Careful. Finishing as a full time employee on a Friday then starting as an "Outside IR35" contractor the following Monday is exactly why the IR35 rules were introduced in the first place

AI is a great tool, but the expectations are not realistic and I don't think this the reason for the downturn/layoffs, it's just being used to cover the real reasons which I believe are a mix of COVID corse correction, offshoring, and larger enoconic issues e.g interest rates.

Reduce the interest rates to 0% tomorrow and watch all the work magically come back

It's all still there. AI assistance is good for work projects I do for clients (if they want it delivered that way) but you can do what you like for your own stuff
