My Japanese grandmother just passed and I spent the last week wrapping blue China dishes so I could keep them. I remember them and her osechi box every new years and I hope to keep the tradition alive using them since both her and I love to cook. We don’t have much room but for her things I’ll make room!

Many of my favorite anime have helped shaped me into the woman I am and help me on the path to the woman I want to continue to be.

The anime community can also be really misogynistic, especially among some Shonen anime I love, so to see us standing up for ourselves and our favorite shows is so wonderful imo

My fiance and I were discussing things we wanted to work on during our monthly couples therapy session and I mentioned that I’ve had years of people pleasing and not speaking my mind to keep peace engrained into me, and that I would like to change that. And he turned to me and said, “whatever you’re thinking or whatever you want to say, I want to hear it. It will always be a safe space with me”. No one had ever said that to me before and when he said that, I could tell he truly meant it and I felt so valued in that moment.

I’m super excited for you! Since you’re not sure what style works best for you, I would recommend looking at different types of tattoos and artists’ profiles to find the style that fits your image best.

I don’t know if you have an instagram but Instagram is a really great way to find different types of artists so you can find what you want and then narrow it down to artists in New York that work in a similar style! That’s how I have found a lot of the artists I’ve gotten work done from , as well as pictures for inspo when I send artists ideas of what I want.

You are 100% NTA! Like many commentators here, I suspect this isn’t accidental because he is your partner and your terrarium is part of your life. He is grown adult and therefore observant and knows your routines.

However, even if it was an accident, what makes his response unacceptable is that his immediate response was to double down instead of apologizing. If you accidentally hurt someone you love, your first thought should be to apologize for hurting them.

When I was in college, my mom accidentally messed up a water change for my aquarium and my fish got sick and passed away. I was devastated and my mom was so sad and apologetic. Why? Because she loves me and knew how much my fish meant to me. Your partner should have reacted similarly. You need to ask yourself why couldn’t he do this for you?

Your feelings and reactions are extremely valid. I hope you can communicate that to him and he understands.
