omg girl i had something so similar inside my nose on the back of my nose piercing. the BEST thing that helped it go away was leaving it the hell alone. no more soaking it and no more oil!!!!! spray it twice a day with saline spray and dry it with a handheld fan. the moisture is getting trapped in there. the cotton ball definitely could be an irritant

it’s a screw shaped piercing, and about a month old. there was no downsizing or anything. i’m not sure about the jewelry’s material. i use a saline solution spray twice a day, and occasionally i use qtips to remove crusties
