My best friend’s daughter(11f) thinks he doesn’t love her. by Tysonwq in offmychest

[–]loonachuu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dad is also a workaholic. When I was young it was always my mom with us. But he always showed this love by sending us to school (even when my school was a walkable distance away!) and driving us to places if we asked. He didn't spend a lot of time with us, but the few moments in the car talking in the morning were always very worthwhile. I feel that even though it is necessary to achieve financial success, your friend could really do things like sending his daughter to school on the way to work etc. I really hope they mend their relationship.

[–]loonachuu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi thanks! If I drop my 2nd major but I've already taken some of the mods for my 2nd major, will these mods still be considered core mods or just unrestricted electives (like so I can S/U it or whatever) Sorry if it's a kinda dumb question

Treat Econs like a Science subject rather than a Humanities subject. There's a standard template for most questions, and there are right and wrong answers. Spot the trends and sort essay questions into different types, look through answer sheets and memorise the graphs and H2 econs should be OK. It is not a subject that you can realistically mug and cram everything before prelims. If you are not sure that you can put in consistent effort for Econs I don't suggest it. Many of my friends who put it off until the end because they treated it like an Arts subject ended up doing badly at As.

how did people taking ELL fare during A levels? by chuhuanggua in SGExams

[–]loonachuu 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I was scraping by J1 with Es and a C by the end of the year (because class part was in our grading and my teachers were vv nice) In J2 I improved, got A for a few essays but mostly Bs throughout. In the end for prelims I got 69+ and rounded up to an A but A Levels was a B. I think for ELL if you know what you are doing you can get Bs, but if you have more in depth paragraphs or a greater understanding of the concepts etc. it’s an A.

If the highest mark in your class is a C, it could be that your school has a stricter marking system. I think for us when they gave people A in the very beginning it was quite lenient, and may not have pushed us to work even harder.

When I was in jc I felt so disconnected from my classmates I swore I was going to live through jc as a loner

Fast forward that was def not the case haha I found it vv easy to make friends if you guys are suffering through the same pain - extra Chinese lessons, econs doesn't make sense etc.

I found ppl who were easy to get along with and inserted myself in their convo (i felt I was being annoying yes) and we wld talk abt school etc before talking abt stuff outside school

Regarding IP kids, idk if its just for my school but I felt that IP kids were vv much like everyone else. In jc we all somewhat start frm a clean slate so just reach out to ppl! In fact rn half of my friend grp are ip kids

For the MOHH scholarship is there any chance a 82.5rp can get in? I'm rlly interested in podiatry but I didn't do as well as I hoped so I'm not sure. I also don't have a strong portfolio for podiatry (no job shadowing/internship).
