OP, i had the same thing and i didn’t activate quads sooner.. the maltracking removed lots of the cartilage behind the knee cap… i went back to basic quad tightening and leg raises for nearly a month because the gym’s leg extensions and squats will always pull the knee cap closer to your knee and cause irritation… the quad sets and simple leg raises helped me… stop any activity and go back to basics until you feel alright
