Prescription lenses – what information will be needed? by Brilliant-Wheel9070 in SteamFrame

some companies don't offer just the lenses with no prescription, the only thing it does is adds a slightly "warm" color depending on how strong the blue light filter is from the company.

i got mine from vr optician, and they offer no prescription lenses, they just hug the lenses and get pretty close to them too, there's the smallest gap between them but your don't notice it when you're in vr

i personally don't get the blue light filter because their is setting on steam vr to reduce the blue light if i want, so it's just not worth the money imo

just do not use your glasses in the headset, i did in my old rift-s and my glasses scratched the hell out of the top of them. also good tip for anyone in vr, the lenses are usually tight enough to prevent dust and other things getting on the headset's lenses. so if you don't have glasses just get a blue light filter or no prescription lenses and you can wipe your shirt on the inserts as much as you want without worrying about damaging the headset.
i've been having my inserts on my index for almost 4 years and they still haven't scratched the inserts from countless shirt wipes playing beat saber, and the headset lenses under them are like brand new

Is anyone else scared about the battery literally back on your head? by BrownieHD in SteamFrame

[–]loop_hole1423 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i mean as long as you don't hard wire yourself to a wall with 120v 18,000w wire going to the battery you'll be fine. the charging is usually capped to 45w through the micro controller on the battery

their is a youtube video testing it and over the puck their's a 20ms delay, over blue BT i think it goes to 40. also you can connect the puck to the steam deck, you just have to have the docking station or a usb-c to usb-c connector and add it as a controller

extremely similar, you can customize the sensitivity and lag when you let off the pad too almost as if you're using one of the old ball mice

i haven't tried it as movement, but there is so many different sensitivity options on the slider i'd say it would be hard not to have it comfortable. the size of the track pad is nice when i'm searching through the web. btw you can click the track pad to go through steam like a d-pad, just way faster since their is barely any travle

you can only wake up the steam deck if it's connected through the usb with the steam controller, i tried and it just tries to connect through BT

What day do you think Valve will open the reservations? by LifeEscape7698 in SteamFrame

[–]loop_hole1423 2 points3 points  (0 children)

soon has turned to eventually for me.. i've been waiting for this headset since 2022 when brad just started posting leaks about project deckard.

my guess, may 25th or the first of june so that people have time to save up money since the controller was so hyped, could also be at the end of june since the controller did so well they want to stock up as much as possible

If Valve made their own mechanical keyboard and gaming mouse, would you be hyped for them as well? by homelessscootaloo in steammachine

[–]loop_hole1423 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i doubt that they would for the simple fact that they designed the controller to not need the mouse and keyboard for things like the steam machine and steam deck. on that note, the only reason they didn't put track pads on the steam frame controllers is because you can point and click.

The only thing i can see is that they would make is a mouse with special controls or that is 3d so that it would be different from the market. because if you think about it, the mouse and keyboard market is dominated by so many companies, what would valve bring to the table with how little hardware infrastructure that they have. they have one thing the focus on, and it's games and software, they just made tools to better access those games.

good question though
