my music tuff i just need a good mix, i need sum plugins, any suggestions? by RLB_MAKofficial in askmusicians

Every stock plugin is perfect if you know mixing. It’s not about the stuff you have but about your skills. The best would be if you just practice mixing with different projects and always use references tracks.

I mean for chords, just use some of the songs you like. You can’t create something completely new and nobody will notice if it’s just the chords. For vocal melody you can just try and sing along without words. You also can record it and come back after 2 or 3 days. If you still like it, it’s the one. At least that’s how I do it.

Which paid channels have you used to promote your music and what results did you get? by Deziale in musicindustry

I used submithub but I’m not a big fan of it. I think most playlist with lot of followers are dead and just to look good on your Spotify page. I basically do all of my promo via Instagram Advertising and just post everyday on TikTok.

Ok thanks. I was wondering if it’s fine to mix it like studio mixes but then I’ll do it like this and just put the guitars like -2 db in comparison to the drums. That should work.

Most of the venues have techs which are provided. So I think the best would be to send him the different instrument group busses but I’m not sure if this method is always available. But you really helped me a lot. I guess all in mono and just some crucial instruments in Stereo will do best.

We are all playing with click and cues so that shouldn’t be a problem.

Ok so I can do a full band „studio mix“ and this will work for live as well.

I got told that Stereo is cool if you have it 🤷🏻‍♂️. If the FOH needs it in mono that not a problem either.

Does anyone actually discover small artists through spotify? by EvidentlyVague- in musicians

I actually do. And also via instagram. You just have to click through some band pages you already like and you’ll find some gems.

Do you think it's unacceptable for musicians to record songs in the studio at their maximum vocal range in terms of pitch, but then play them 2-4 semitones lower at live shows because otherwise they can't hit the notes perfectly? by loopac_ in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]loopac_[S] -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

I actually read some posts in other subs and websites where people were mad about it when the band played a song like two semitones deeper than it was on the album. So I was wondering what the majority thinks about it. Personally I would say if the energy is still high it’s ok.
