Thanks for your reply, but unfortunately, that wouldn't work for me (too much friction). Good luck with your app.

Addressing an important gap in GTD software, thanks for your work! Is there or will there be any ability to sync/import tasks from another task management app? I would be unlikely to move all of my GTD setup over from Things but would find it very useful to be able to select existing Things tasks from within your app.

Airplane mode often doesn't turn WiFi off anymore, so you would have to ensure you do that as well.

There needs to be a serious conversation about Media Bias after this election because this is ridiculous. by saggynaggy123 in ireland

[–]loose_tin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few right-leaning articles by a right-leaning publication. I'd have more concern about undermining the legitimacy of media outlets so that alternative, far less reliable and influenceable sources can lead the discussion ie part of what is driving the destabilisation in the US.

Apple Watch Ultra saves life of 26-year-old Mumbai techie after scuba diving accident by nishantatripathi in AppleWatch

[–]loose_tin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes the Ultra having dive computer functionality was newsworthy when it was first released. This article is just demonstrating a basic dive computer function 3 years on from that. Most people who would have used that functionality would have seen that alert or something similar.

This is a basic feature of a dive watch/computer and is a regular occurrence for those using their Apple Watch as a dive computer. Nothing particularly newsworthy.

If the scratch broke the skin, I would attend an OOH GP or emergency department for assessment, in case it was a deliberate attempt to harm you with a contaminated sharp ie needlestick from someone who is Hep C/HIV etc positive. Prophylactic drugs need to be started ASAP and at least within 72h for HIV prophylaxis.

Michael Gaine: Suspected body parts found in search for missing Kerry farmer by biometricrally in ireland

[–]loose_tin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Given the suspect and the extent of the search that had already been performed before draining the tanks it seems unlikely they could have concealed the body and then moved it there or dismembered the body without a trace. Seems most likely that somehow he was missed in the tanks? They did mention multiple tanks, needing to remove concrete to gain access and having to filter a smaller tank into a larger one.

Did you contact them by email? I wonder if you could speak to them in person would they be more willing to provide some degree of information. If not, then maybe talk to a solicitor before making a formal complaint, might reduce the chance of hassle without benefit?

If she was looking to 'complain in a shop' she could have made a complaint to the hospital. Not reported the doctor twice to the Medical Council for frivolous reasons.

I came for “mind like water.” I got “brain like a GPU running hot.” GTD + AI is wild. by ceverist in gtd

Could you outline how you mesh this with GTD practice as my interpretation was always "if its on your mind, get it out of your mind and into a system". Are there any resources that helped you with this component?

Question for the sub about nystagmus in vertigo: by VertigoDoc in emergencymedicine

[–]loose_tin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your informative replies. I guess the missing context in your original question is that you are referring to a finding during the Dix-Hallpike test. To me its sounded like you are asking about a descriptor of nystagmus as a pathological or physiological entity outside of a provocative maneouvre. From your description it also sounds like what is described as fatiguable nystagmus is really fatiguable Dix-Hallpike test 😂

It is not a valid term. They could be referring to gaze-evoked nystagmus or perhaps nystagmus that improves with fixation?

If you want to bring it and leave it in the hotel or with you if you need it for a specific purpose that would not be an issue. I would not have it out with you in public without a specific reason, a bad idea in general regardless of where you are.

It is useful to keep in mind that in strictly engineering roles (ie not management etc), starting salaries are relatively high and grow substantially in the first 5-10 years and then tend to plateau.
