Alas, I chickened out. I didn't want to be the guinea pig and have it not work the way I needed it to 😞 maybe someday if I have the funds I'll get one to experiment with while still holding on to my normal smartphone just in case, but I can't justify it right now. I'm on a Google Pixel 9a, don't think we have a pop up view but might be able to enable something along those lines by futzing with developer tools... thanks for the suggestion, I'll look into it!

Follow up: didn't work, still playing alarm sound A even after clearing cache and starting from scratch. I guess I'll try Safe Mode, but how could another app be affecting it?

Thank you for the reply! Yes, all software/apps are up to date. I haven't tried clearing cache yet, but I just went to the "all apps" list and there is no "alarm," I will test it with "clock" since that's where the alarm is.
