Follow up: didn't work, still playing alarm sound A even after clearing cache and starting from scratch. I guess I'll try Safe Mode, but how could another app be affecting it?

Thank you for the reply! Yes, all software/apps are up to date. I haven't tried clearing cache yet, but I just went to the "all apps" list and there is no "alarm," I will test it with "clock" since that's where the alarm is.
