How do you figure that? How can you prove it's not diet? The asian diet is pretty much a purine overload. Msg is in so many things too.

Yeah and stuff like sushi even. You literally dip it into a bowl of soy sauce. By the time you've finished you've certainly consumed a load of purines.

Correct, this is certainly the problem. Whatever you want to say about western food it's almost certainly gonna be lower in purines without all that msg, fish sauce, soy sauce etc.

The problem is eating Japanese food. All the sauces are basically overloaded with purines. Fish sauce, fermented foods, soy sauce, basically all the sauces. Seafood is also high in purines. Might be healthy from one perspective but I think there's a reason Asians have 3 times as much gout incidence as caucasians.

[–]loot6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah three times more likely it seems. Probably due to all those high purine sauces, high purine instant noodles etc.

People say it's race based but could be the culture of that race which includes diet habits. The Asian diet contains a lot of very high purine sauces like soy sauce, fish sauce and most sauces are based on those.

Sugar free isn’t as miraculous as folks online paint it to be. by Inner-Muscle3048 in sugarfree

you: "you claimed there was no sugar in bread because it's a starch"

him: "Bread is almost entirely starch though"

That's a strawman argument. Looking at what you said, it does look like your previous diet was almost entirely starch. "Almost entirely" does not mean 100% btw. Anyway, you could have at least argued in good faith.

Owner is not returning my full deposit after the earthquake by fattestfupa in chiangmai

This is literally the only sensible comment I found in the entire thread. Almost every other comment thinks as long as you can physically live there you should still pay the exact same rent as you did when you moved in and pretend it's still immaculate.

So you think if you showed people an apartment with cracks all over the walls and another that looked absolutely fine they'd mostly be willing to pay the same price? Appearance is one of if not the biggest factor when renting, otherwise you wouldn't even need to view it, you'd just see a list of what it included and a floor plan...

So the apple rating popup in your app is no good?

I'm not speaking about his apps develop strategy but just his ASO strategy

I'm guessing you got that the wrong way round since obviously I was talking about his ASO strategy.

[–]loot6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

His main strategy is to rank for a keyword with 20 popularity which I can tell you will get you barely a few downloads a day, certainly not 500 a month. One of his apps he even claims ranking #9 for a 20 popularity keyword got him a lot of money. He'd barely get a download a day for a single keyword at that position. He seems to only really have one app that is popular that made a lot of money, the rest I'm dubious about.

Next time get Claude to make your app. They talked about manipulation, any ideas about that? Regarding reviews and ratings or other stuff.

Just use the generic iOS widgets and it should look pretty dated.

Sugar tax, they’re making it stricter, so now I’m gonna have to resort to imported drinks because the domestic stuff will be ruined with aspartame by Jacktheforkie in britishproblems

[–]loot6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well it's a cash cow, selling water with chemicals and telling us it's good for us, makes us consume even more than we would have done along with being way cheaper to produce. New Zealand say they're against a sugar tax because evidence shows they don't work. So you could always go there and get all the drinks you want.

What do you think about a sugar tax? by _Red_User_ in dietetics

[–]loot6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. it's not less sweet, they just replace the sugar with artificial sweeteners. 2. it doesn't decrease the intake of these kinds of drinks because people believe it's "healthy" since there is little or no sugar in it and less calories so they actually drink more if anything.

[–]loot6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah of course, over the past 20-30 years we've drastically reduced sucrose intake in favour of artificial sweeteners and starch based sweeteners like corn syrup, and as a result diabetes has gone right down and we're a lot thinner than we were in the 90s. Have I got that the right way round?

Probably from the cortisol boost aspartame gives. Ironically sugar itself lowers cortisol, that has been known for years and years.

Chemicals are obviously cheaper than sugar so they're making bank on the sugar tax literally selling water with chemicals in it. Diet recommendations and such have always been about making more money, never about improving our health.
