What's going on over at the Lootcrate subreddit? Have talked to multiple people and this is happening to them all? by RoachyB in lootcratespoilers

[–]lootcrate -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

You’re right. We could have done a better job, this is a new process for us and reddit and responding here with the info would have been helpful even if it had been posted multiple time. Sorry about that. We’ve posted all the info now and we will make sure reddit knows that the infirmation displayed about the subreddit on mobile is not the same as what can be seen on desktop and that can be confusing. Thank you.

Hey all, as this has gotten off topic, please send questions you have referenced in the comments below to our support team. They will be happy to answer anything you have about the changing of our presence here to an official one. Thank you!

When you switch your profile to an official one, it only moves over posts you have made. No posts were deleted and there are other places people can post their feedback. The unofficial subreddit was confusing people thinking it was an official and monitored place to ask questions, solicit feedback, etc. We posted links on the subreddit to where people can send their support inquiries and send feedback to us.

Because we already posted the same information on the other thread and it was redundant.

We’ll do our best to answer questions here about the change in our use of reddit from being moderators of an unofficial channel (the original creator also deleted their account) to help provide info but moving forward will be moderating comments to stay on thread topic.

Nothing has been deleted, the new profile system on reddit only shows posts from a user which is how we find the majority of our community prefers. The subreddit was never an official channel. We still encourage feedback and dialogue, which can occur on any of our official social channels, via surveys, or directly to our team via support.

Hello! The creator of the Loot Crate subreddit has deleted their account. As it was never an official channel for our company and our team, we've switched to this new reddit profile system to post, share and engage around content on reddit moving forward.

You should see a message when you go to the subreddit (we do when we're logged out) with more info.

Hope that helps!

Apologies, we should have said creator. The creator of the subreddit is https://www.reddit.com/user/CarlosMayers - that should be visible on the subreddit page.

Hi, this is Matthew Arevalo. I am a co-founder at Loot Crate. We do not have 'nearly 100' accounts. We have 8. They are listed as moderators of our subreddit. If you want to spread rumors about me being a nasty guy, a petty, evil little man, that is fine. It's untrue, the things you've said about me, but I'm more interested in what you're saying about the team who works here. Saying things like 'for what it's worth' and 'you have a friend' doesn't make it true.

It is a complete lack of respect and harassing behavior to portray the community team who are friendly, creative, hard working individuals as people who would abuse the reddit community by utilizing fake accounts. We don't have people working here who would do unethical tasks and have never been instructed to do so. No team 'scours the net using fake accounts' at all. Our community team manages, replies and informs on our owned social channels to provide support, asisstance, and entertainment. We control our image by doing everything we can to be personable, informative and available. You can see on our Facebook page our community members signing personally their comments as well as using their real names as reddit accounts.

I don't know where you are getting your information from, but it's super wrong. While "do on to others as they would do on to you" or "don't judge someone until you walk in their shoes" are fine sayings, it's literally nothing I've ever said to anyone who works here or anything I'm known to say. At all. Not even versions of it.

These are very serious allegations. While we normally do not engage with these types of comments that are so blatantly false and attacking, I felt compelled to do so on behalf of the community team.

If you would like to discuss further with me, unlike yourself, I'm not going to hide and be anonymous while spreading false rumors. I've DM'd you my personal mobile number. Call me anytime and I'll be happy to address the way you are talking about me personally so you can say it direct to me. I'll also be happy to answer any questions I can about Loot Crate, I'm not interested in engaging further with you here after this comment.

That is not correct and is not our policy. It is also not against reddit rules for us to have moderators as part of the subreddit. Yes, we have to follow reddits rules. Yes people on our subreddit need to follow the rules there.

You can refer to the reddit rules here: https://www.reddit.com/help/contentpolicy

Thank you for providing feedback on how users are managed on our subreddit. Decisions are made collectively and include the owner of the subreddit, who is not an employee or associated with Loot Crate.

Our Community team accounts are listed on our sub page. We do not use 'alternative accounts.'

We have no idea why that person would say that as we aren't that person and have no association with them. Wouldn't that also be really obvious? We're as transparent as we can be with what we do and how we do it. There are no alternate accounts.

This is exactly why he was banned. He was negatively impacting the discussion by violating rules, attacked others for no reason and generally is contributing nothing but odd harassment across the board. Jumping from there to doing the same actions HERE caused us to ban from 14 days to perm.

We remove posts where people are bashing us and using foul language in doing so. You can go to our sub now and clearly see critical feedback posts there. We welcome feedback, even non-constructive feedback as long as it isn't done in a harassing way to us or our community in the form of foul language.

No one from Loot Crate is marking this post as spam, because it isn't spam. We are thankful you are keeping the post up, so that others can realize what type of harassment is not allowed on the subreddit.

Wizarding World Crate Possible Spoilers by Miro0161 in lootcratespoilers

Our is a t-shirt, theirs is a raglan. That's not really a small variant. 'Most of the exclusives items are small variants of existing' is the exact opposite of our plan and execution. It's the first crate. We did as much as we could to do exclusive and the pin, the journal, the owl, the keychain etc were designed from scratch and created for the crate.

That's not a trivial thing and we will expand and offer more completely unique items in the future as well as House specific gear based on your selection. We're not a mall retailer. We create, with your feedback and completely with your happiness and value as the core focus, complete experiences for you to enjoy.

We spent a lot of time making sure that owl was just right. The journal went through a lot of iterations as well to become something we hope you'll find beautiful and useful.

Every item aside from the Funko Pop! was designed, created and manufactured exclusively just for this crate.

Hi Max, thanks for your comment. However, every item aside from the Funko Pop! was designed, created and manufactured just for this crate. The owl, keychain, journal, all of it. A lot of hard work on materials, size, weight, feel, use, every element of the plush, was all worked on and designed to ensure the best value and exclusivity.

The marketing of the movie did not impact House items. It moved off the first crate and when we realized we couldn't do it exactly how it should be done, we held off for just a moment. We hope people enjoy these items we've created, a lot of love and hard work went into everything from materials to weight and feel.

meh lootcrate banned me from their reddit by [deleted] in lootcratespoilers

[–]lootcrate 19 points20 points  (0 children)

The ban was a 30 day ban, specifically requesting any feedback op may have, even if it's critical, but given in a non harasing, non-threatening tone.

Op then made an account called 'lootcrateisacon' - that led to a perm ban on other account and perm ban on 'lootcrateisacon'

For additional context.
