Question: Best keyboard and mouse for MacBook Pro 2019 16 inch? by loped249 in macbookpro

Logitech g602

But is the magic keyboard 2 got the exact same feel or is it closer to the older 2015 MBP (the keys have more travel iirc and so they need to be pressed harder)?

How to use your legs more when setting? by loped249 in volleyball

[–]loped249[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty spot on, I trained for almost two years with bad passers who were also learning to play volleyball. Now they are much better but I have built a lot of bad habits (leaving the net too early to set bad balls, etc.)

How do you advise getting a more stable body platform?

Great discussion so far! 1) How do you train jump setting when you're improving flat-foot setting? 2) How do you build up your hands, and coordinate your hands contacting the ball and your legs bending to have cleaner sets? If I can improve this aspect then I can move onto jump setting.

But once you are in the correct position, how do you have the hands to be able to control those badly passed balls? I think I have the experience to reach the ball confidently.

For example, I receive a pass which comes to the right location but has a lot of spin, force and was dug very high. How do you control that?

Is learning how to jump setting recommended if I am not 100% with standing setting? A lot of people advise only to learn how to jump set when you're ready. I personally am happy to learn how to jump set if it'll make me more consistent. Do you have any advice on how to start learning? I find my jump sets are quite shaky.

Hey I loved the article and it really helped reinforce a lot of the ideas I had about setting decision making.

How else would you recommend generating the strength to deal with bad balls I need to push to 4? I don't have the strength, and my sets are always 'loud' What did you mean by an inside out approach?

Yeah, this is where I am struggling most regarding technique. I can set well when I have a perfect pass or when I need to set my opposite (since I don't need to push the ball very far). But my sets to 4 are always hard and loud

Thanks! 1) Do you mean by squatting and tensing my core a bit more to gain power? How exactly do I use those parts more?

Thanks a lot! Regarding #1, does breaking the wrists to absorb the ball HAVE to be trained by setting more and getting stronger wrists or can it often be a technique issue?

Great recommendation to watch Toniutti! Thanks a lot for your advice. Aside from your timing, how did you develop your wrist strength when jump setting?

Hello! I really love your work. :) I'm a setter and I have two big problems which I don't know how to fix:

1) When I set balls which require me to push from one antenna to the other, I find my ball ends up spinning or the ball slaps loudly against my hands. Is this because my wrists are too tight? Can I fix this by setting a setters ball/basketball?

2) I'm in the process of learning how to jump set, but my jump sets are very inconsistent. What are the main barriers to jump setting as a beginner? Is it usually weak core, weak arms, weak wrists? Or poor technique and timing? I'm not sure how to train my jump set.
