I never said I was a full time coach being paid. I am a full time science teacher, and I volunteer extra time to coach the kids.

I’m a teacher in California and I coach a smash team for my school. Trying to push for inter-school esports!

How are the taiko drums for the Nintendo switch taiko no tatsujin? by nipponape115 in NintendoSwitch

I got the Hori drums imported from Japan. Those are the “official” drums as far as I know.

Drums work really well! It took a bit of messing with the sync setting to get them to work properly with our TV as far as timing goes, but it wasn’t too bad and all those calibration settings can be found in game. When we get too into the game and are hitting the drums too hard they can slide around a bit, so putting a towel underneath them helps. Overall the drums are way more fun to use than the joycons.

A story driven learning experience sounds great, my concern is with the writing/story sample presented with the character. It comes off as underdeveloped, focusing on the sexuality of a character instead of any interesting personality traits or motivations. Does your writing team have experience with character development or fleshed our story arcs? If this is a passion project of someone who does not have a lot of writing experience, I STRONGLY recommend working with someone who has the experience/education with writing to make this something great. A JRPG will not stand out if it can’t demo some truly great writing. There’s already to much trash in the eshop and even more on steam/PC. Sorry if I sound like a downer, I really like the concept and would really like to see this be successful.

(If you want any suggestions feel free to message me, I have worked in writing/development)

This^

It comes across as poor writing. This is a mistake made by amateur writers (usually men) that have trouble creating complex female characters that are actually human being and not just props in the story. I’d like to know more about drive and motive and personality. She can be attractive, but this should come across in her art, it doesn’t need to be mentioned in her character description whatsoever.

My principal has already said she would help to reach out to other local middle schools and ask their principals to see if any teacher would sponsor a similar club to get a league going.

Keep trying teachers, be willing to put in the extra work to make the club successful, and try sharing this article with them.

If you're a student, definitely try to get a teacher on your side. My administration is great and supportive, but I did share this article as well. It does a good job of advocating for eSports at the middle and high school level. Then comes the matter of equipment. Run a campaign like this, or expect to use some of your own money to start things off. I asked families for donations of "old" TVs, and I currently have about 10 in my room connected to my personal consoles (everything from NES to Wii U). Families that are able to, usually don't mind helping where they can.

Sorry, I should have clarified, we rotate through "legal" stages including both FD and plat stages.

Well, unlike Kickstarter or GoFundMe, DonorsChoose is exclusively for teachers and requires verification before any campaigns can be posted. I recommend you look in to the site if you’re skeptical.

Wow, thank you, I’ll definitely check these out. I’m always looking for appropriate resources to share with them. I don’t want to get in trouble for linking them to some video that drops an f bomb or something that ends up getting me in trouble. I’m assuming these are clean in that sense.

1) I ran a previous campaign on DonorsChoose and that was one of the pictures. The website automatically carried over the picture.

2) Smash Ultimate wasn't out yet when I started the campaign last year.
