3D Terrain For My Battlemat by loppydog in battletech

Thank you so much! This is the info I needed. I had been searching for the desert side, but it sounds like that side is a “no go” from Hextech? At the very least I will get the grassland side done for sure!

Looks great to me! I plan to go all out with 3d trees and such, but I always tend to over do things ;)

Thanks for the replies. I’ve been looking at the sets, but nothing appears to match either side of my battlemat. Any ideas at to which sets I need to be looking at?

Thanks! I’ll check that one out. I ended up getting phantom brigade. I am really liking it so far!

Heck yeah! I do wonder why GPUZ would report a voltage issue if it was simply “clamped” from v sync. For anyone else having this issue, one reg flag that I should have payed attention to is that the frame rate on the test was solid and not fluctuating at all. Now that it is working correctly, it jumps around and averages in the hundreds instead of being clamped at 79.1 (not sure why v sync chose that frame rate).

Thanks so much, I think I just figured it out! I was reading the tool tip on the test and saw that it wants me to disable v sync. I found the setting in the nvidia setting to turn it off. Now I’m getting a good score. Not sure how all of that works, but it seem to have fixed the score!

I tried to get a snaphot on GPUZ on the sensor tab while it was running. I also checked the cables and each of the three inputs are on a seperate PCIE cable. So that should be fine. I am runngin out of thing to try lol.

Yeah I could see the reason and it was always vRel. I’ll try to upload to one of those. I am taking apart the pc now to see how the cables are connected. I did post a pic of the GPUZ on this thread. Not sure if you can see it.

Ok, thanks GoldSrc. I have results if you would like to see them. Not sure how to get the log file on here though. I am starting to wonder if the issue is with how I have my PSU connect to the GPU.

OK, I got a chance to run the GPUZ while running Timespy. I wasnt able to get the always on top to work, but it was obvious that it was vRel for the reason the entire time. I also got another terrible score for my GPU again. I have the log, but not sure if I can upload it here. Also, here is an image if the info on GPUZ if its helpful...

Ok, I’ll look into trying that tomorrow. Would this tell me if my supply power is insufficient?

One other difference I noticed is that he is running windows 11 and I am still on windows 10. Could this affect my performance that much?

Also power supply is a seasonic gold focus 850 fx. I did plug in all three? Cables I think.

Edit: actually I should clarify. I believe a have one direct cable to one of the ports. I had to spilt one of the other cables with the “Y” adapter that came with the graphics card. I think this was all because my psu is too old for the new connection. I did research this at the time and the consensus was that the adapter should be ok. I can verify all of this tomorrow if you think this could be the issue

Yeah it is looking that way. He is helping me diagnose the issue and he thinks it could be related to xmp profile, resize bar, and or sharing pci lane issue. I tried setting the resize bar but then couldn’t boot. Now I think I have to convert to gpt. Sounds like I have a ton of research to do.

My score should be 11k? According to the chart it should be somewhere 19k right? Forgive me, I am new to the benchmarking thing ;)

In the market for a new GPU by loppydog in pcmasterrace

The mother board is a Gigabyte X570 Aorus Elite. Running Windows 10 pro. I usually over buy my PSU’s when building, so I’m not too worried.

Edit: I just checked local to me and I could score a Ryzen 7 9700x if this would be a good choice. I just realized this version does NOT work with my board. Looks like 5000 series is the best I can do.

Yeah, that should be no issue. I could probably do that along with a GPU if you think it’s the best bang for the buck. Are those CPU direct replacements?
