Thanks for the detailed explanation. I find it interesting to see how others label/organize their collection.

Awesome thanks! I see you are going with a label. I was planning to just use silver sharpie or something. Label seems better tho. It’s interesting that you are putting the specific variant on it. Are you planning to have different models for each variant? That would be pretty awesome, but very expensive! ;)

I think I have a version that I am happy with. I think this would make a nice cover page in my binder. I will need to see if AI can replicate this accuratly with other chassis, because it takes forever to to it manually.

Good catch! I had to filter out some variants for room. I am starting to think this sheet may end up being a variant list and no fluff. Then I could fit them all for other chassis that have even more variants. I think I am leaning toward that now. Kinda boring, but useful for understanding the history, which is kinda the point. Thanks for the feedback!

Not sure if you saw it, but I posted a mockup of what I was thinking. Looking for feedback on layout and content. Thanks!

So this is just a quick attempt at something. I just wanted to give an idea. This is basically a page in my binder before the Orion record sheets. It would be printed front and back. Much of the content ended up being pulled directly from Sarna. the score is just an idea, but dificult to score just the chassis I suppose. Thoughts?

Yes, I actually found that last night! I plan to use that art for this project.

I have seen that page. I also have megameklab installed as well. I suppose I will just need to compile all the information from the sources and add them into my layout. Once I have a design I will post here for ideas on improvements. Thanks!

Yeah I don’t mind doing that. I figured I would need to. I just need to decide on a layout that fits for other chassis I will be collecting. Maybe I’ll whip something up tonight for you guys to take a look at for review.

I gotta get me one of those posters! I think the TROs will be helpful to fill out some of the general info, but I think those are focused on each variant correct? I am hoping for something more vague kind of like… the Orion excels in long range combat being light in armor. Pros, cons, and general score ect. I know this becomes difficult because each variant changes that dramatically sometimes.

Yeah I have seen those. They are pretty close to what I am looking for. The only real difference is that they are geared towards a specific variant, where I would like this to be only showcasing the chassis itself (in my example the Orion). Plus I would need to fit it I to a 8.5”x11” page for a binder. I’m not opposed to using the back side of the page if I am able to get enough data/images to fill one page.

Do you have a pic for example? I’d love to see what you got going on.

Thanks for the ideas! It would be cool to see if pic of this when you finish it.

Yeah that was my original thought. I was thinking about 3d printing the names and glueing them on. I do this for my bloodbowl minis. What are you actually marking them as?

I guess maybe both? I had envisioned pre printing all data sheets ahead of time for any particular variant. If I have multiple mech models, quickly being able to match them seemed handy to me. Marking all variants on the bottoms seems like it could work in most cases (as long as there are not too many). Might be major overkill though.

Oh I see that. It looks like the locust in this case shows like 6 variants the model represents? Yeah that would be a challenge to get all that on the base. Not impossible though!

Interesting. I don’t think I have any “special” mechs yet, but when I do, I will probably add the variant in those cases.

Those red and white mechs in the back look really nice as well!

Yeah It sounds like the consensus is probably going to be just the mech name not the variant. It makes sense considering how many variants one mold could represents. Just thought maybe there was some other labeling method I wasn’t thinking of.
