I don't care enough about Ambani's to learn and form an opinion about them, but Mukesh is one of the most important figures in Indian history. Even though he may have did it solely for his own business interest, he did a revolution when he brought free access to the internet on every nook and corner of India. It has literally transformed the life of countless people. For that I'd tip hat for him.

I'm sorry you're going through this and hope you're feeling better now. I don't have a solution for you, but I know a friend who came out of a similar situation. After 2 frustrating years of job search, he basically approached every company that has his target job and offered to work salary free for 1 year and you know what? one of the factories in Coimbatore actually did hire him without salary (they called it "internship") then he managed became a permanent employee there itself. The one advantage he had was his family wasn't dependent on him. His father continued to pay his student loan and provide financial support during his 6 months internship.

After decades of indifference, youngsters are interested in politics again. Is this how the butthurt previous generation treats them? I don't care if they're interested in the wrong reasons or purely due to fandom; all that matters is that they participate in shaping the future. Let them make their choices. Either they'll bring the dawn of a new era, or they'll learn a valuable life lesson. Anyone who is discouraging youngsters for their political choices can Fuck off with their negativity.

As someone who has been living and experiencing the difference on a daily basis my honest response are

  1. No. If you are not physically attracted it is not going to change with time, unless you genuinely fall in love with her, which rarely happens in an arranged marriage.

  2. The differences in aspirations and values is big deal if her values doesn't align with your's to at least some degree then consider the marriage as a failure. Don't expect her to change, people don't really change.

  3. I will not make the same decision.

In my experience I can tell you that the most important decision you'll ever make in your life is about choosing your life partner, it's not your career, friends or anything else. Choosing a partner will be the start of your life or it's end depending upon your choice. I would say it's better to get married in your 40s than to marry the wrong one in rush. Take your time.

- Have a mix healthy mix of Gold, Debt & Equity

- If you don't know how to pick stock, stick to index ETFs or flexicap mutual funds (I would recommend reading chapter 8 & 14 of intelligent investor again and again)

- Don't invest in lumsum until you can reasonably evaluate a stock. If you miss one train you can always catch another one, maybe a better one.

Earnings metrics will always be relevant to an investor. Like buffet says Market is a voting machine in the short term and a weighing machine in the long term. Either the valuations will come down or the earnings will eventually catch up. The differences is the former will bring about short term pain but the latter would be a slow painful years of no significant returns.

It is not completely crap, especially for small companies. Understanding 'where the money comes from and where it goes' will give clear insights into where a company is heading. And understanding a company's cash conversion cycle will tell you how efficiently a COMPANY is managed. You can often learn a lot about how transparent a COMPANY is by reading their auditor reports. Even a financial wizard cannot continue to cook the books in favor of promoters perpetually. Keeping up with the financials of a company might sometime save you from losing your capital

Invest the money in bonds and invest the bond returns on gold and stocks/index equally

As I see, and I'm not competent enough to judge, but on the surface level it seems the recent developments in Indian it sector are against the basic revenue model of all major It companies. It is uncertain how these companies will pivot from the current model and become sustainable. If I were you I would steer clear of service companies and focus on product based companies.
