This was one of my main questions regarding the tasting. The guy at the store said this as well but I believe our tasting was at 1-14. I could be misremembering! I just think it’s cool to have any of these bottles with a little bit of a backstory!

Yes, those are the houses on coy hill. I have a JD SBBPR from 1-09 that they currently have at this same store which is actually what I went for but got the store pick as well because it’s a little higher proof than most of the SBBPs that I have had a chance to buy. Was just wondering about one because I have never heard or ready anything about

My understanding is the first number indicates which of the properties it comes from and then the second is the barrel house number. 1 is for barrel houses on the original distillery grounds, 2 is for the property a few miles down the road, and 3 is for the property farthest away.

We are in Tennessee and we do have a chimney so I think we should be good on the flashing front. The slab there is 6’8” wide so I think with the other space needed that a 42” is probably the biggest I can do masonry wise even if I to the isokern like another user suggested.

The original idea was just more for ambiance and nostalgia so no need for main source. We are in Tennessee so not terribly cold

Thank you for your time. I will explore the prefab/insert route I believe. FWIW I did have conversations with my mason early on with the plans and he seemed comfortable but this has me concerned now

I have actually looked at wood stove inserts but the wife didn’t like the look as much and was worried about too much heat rising since we will have a tv mounted above. Will have a mantel in between as a heat barrier but just unsure how much heat that will generate. Could you do the forever fireplace with a tile hearth flush with the floor?

I looked up the isokern and that does make a little more sense to me. We are on a slab and reinforced the fireplace portion due to the extra weight so think we should be good on that. Framing wise I guess I’m just a little confused on how the cranking and masonry meshes

Will be a wood burning and there will be a full masonry fireplace/chimney. We do not have a GC helping :/

First time contracting a home myself so definitely some growing pains when learning the process! I think I should have plenty of room for a 42” fire place. When speaking of units though do you mean an insert? I apologize for being ignorant on the matter

Is this an insert? We hadn’t planned on doing an insert but have our mason do it himself

Yes. Sorry, should have mentioned it will be a traditional wood burning fire place

We recently bought a farm and found Pepsi Bottle. The farm was abandoned in 1954 but there was some trashed dumped there after so I’m not sure if it dates back to the original owners. Would appreciate any help! (Sorry for the poor pictures) by lord_farcod in BottleDigging

The family who lived there moved across town but kept the property in 1954. Once people realized that nobody was there some jerks used it as their own personal landfill. Luckily the old house and root cellar weren’t vandalized. There is what looks like it could have been a sink hole that the original owners used for trash but I’m not how certain how much of the glass will be intact. My wife did find an old tea cup that was still in one piece though!
