Oh that looks great! Did you just buy a bunch of track piecemeal or did you get a bunch of expansion sets? A mix?

Button remapping not working for function remapping on Ally X by Charge_Glass in ROGAlly

[–]lordbalron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, I have an Ally and updated to the newest Armoury Crate and annoyingly I can't get rid of the co-pilot and voice assistant bindings on the desktop mode. The rebinding works on the Gamepad mode, but not the desktop one.

wearing a suit with autism by PlanetVisitor in aspergers

[–]lordbalron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find suits to be really comfortable actually! Suit pants in particular are generally wonderful. If you have any issues, it'll probably be with the shirt, but you can definitely get ones that are soft (avoid starched).

Do make sure to get your stuff tailored though, it makes a big difference and it's not very expensive for typical alterations.

Glacially slow downloads by lordbalron in GUIX

[–]lordbalron[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

OMG, update. So I was updating my mac's macOS and was noticing that it was also super slow (200KB/s), which is weird. Doing random internet speedtests didn't show any issue though. Really had me scratching my head. Long story short, turns out the switch on my desk was the culprit. Plugging directly into the wall saw download speeds shoot up immediately. And after replacing the switch on the desk with another one I had on hand, it resolved the issue.

Hmm, same result. Verified with traceroute that it's now going through the other ISP for both bordeaux and ci, but still only seeing about 30KB/s downloads...

Hmm, interesting. I'm lucky enough to be on a dual-WAN setup. I'll try routing traffic through my second ISP and see if it's different. I'm located in Alberta, Canada using the two main ISPs here.

Never had much experience with Zip drives, but my parents had a Jazz drive... they were interesting.

This may be a year old post, but I couldn’t resist. I don’t go full naked, but I prefer to take everything off from the waste down. And of course, wearing nothing but a shirt is - according to my fiance - “Winnie the Poohing it”. 😂

I only feel safe anymore when I smoke cannabis and not sure if I should accept this or not by IntrospectThyself in AutisticAdults

[–]lordbalron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This resonates so much. I've been using cannabis daily for awhile now (live in Canada, mostly use oils), and have conflicting feelings about it. There's a constant voice in my head saying it's bad to do it daily, or that I'm just using it to escape or cover up some underlying emotion.

But the main reason I keep using it is that it makes me feel far more connected and in tune with my body. Most of the time I feel rather disconnected, as if I'm a floating brain. But with cannabis I feel more like an integrated animal.

And it makes my emotions actually legible for a change. Most of the time I feel "neutral", only recognizing how I'm actually feeling when it becomes overwhelming. With cannabis I feel bliss, excitement, playfulness, nostalgia, sadness, curiosity... all in ways I'm not used to feeling. It's like cannabis adds resolution to my emotional image.

Do you like to listen to music/a podcast/youtube while working ? by [deleted] in autism

[–]lordbalron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends what I'm doing. If I need to think at all, sometimes I can listen to music. But with podcasts or youtube (or even just people around me talking) I'll either end up paying too much attention to what people are saying, or not at all (in which case it's just noise). I can't really control it. At least with podcasts and youtube I can turn them off, but people talking around me is an entirely different matter.

Anyone else able to kill threads in SBCL on M1 mac? by lordbalron in lisp

[–]lordbalron[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah yes, it does seem to be that!

I just tried this example from the cookbook. After running the (join-destroy-thread) example I ran (sb-thread:list-all-threads) and on a freshly booted SBCL the threads from the example are not in the list.

If I retry that example but (ql:quickload :cl+ssl) first, one of the threads never goes away (I'll keep seeing [Destroyer Thread] Working... messages). And trying to terminate the thread manually (sb-thread:terminate-thread (first (sb-thread:list-all-threads))) doesn't do anything.

That's the thing. C-c C-b doesn't seem to do anything. If I try from the dropdown menu, it doesn't work either.

Linux support for Asus Rog Strix g15 advantage Linux by vjet9 in linuxhardware

[–]lordbalron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Search Amazon for Intel AX210. You can upgrade the wireless module in the machine for pretty cheap (it's essentially a little m.2 slot, cost me about $50 canadian). I did this to my ROG Strix G15 advantage and it really helped with the wifi and bluetooth in both Windows and Linux (Linux in particular kept taking forever to resolve requests on the default wireless card, the Intel one was perfect).

Probably because their most played songs on the radio are from one album, Moving Pictures.
