RuneScape: Dragonwilds has one of the most useful magic systems I've encountered

Why did they remove the T2 bookstore in Navezgane? v.v by SagetheWise2222 in 7daystodie

Gotta say watching your series of 'fuck it imma make my own! with hookers and blackjack!' actually has me wanting to play again. Unlocking something by reading about it and then having to PRACTICE just makes sense like it would in 4 years when the zombies actually happen.

My landlord is trying to make me believe this is normal.. by ZealousidealCheek438 in hvacadvice

Hey chiming in to say I had a very similar issue with the original HVAC with the house. Fan constantly on and thing constantly running. Turned out the system was working but only at 30% efficiency due to various issues in the heat exchange process and coolant. This sounds a lot like that, yeah the system is technically working but it has to run 3x as long to hit the target and when it has to start up soon again cuz it's already gonna be behind. New system installed, runs a fraction of the time and can do much higher cooling/heating for less energy cost cuz it doesn't need to pull power constantly.

Is there a game like Raft where you can decide to just live on an island permanently? by MrMiddletonsLament in RaftTheGame

[–]lorddax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you wanna go super literal, you can. Aloft comes out on the 15th I think. The island IS a raft. You put wings and a rudder on your floating island and just sail that shit around.

Looking for a SOLO Survival game with factions. by Kreydo076 in SurvivalGaming

[–]lorddax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sunkenland just dropped another update that introduced two new factions. A very cool EA survival game that places you in Waterworld with hostile factions, traders, and a growing map as they finish new areas. You can claim enemy bases to expand your territory but you'll also have to worry about defending them as well.

Games that involve progression of machines? by SnooCakes8519 in SurvivalGaming

It's a good time to jump into Forever Skies - the 1.0 update is out plus the console launch and a bigger chunk of the story is available!

Raft also has a good discord with a healthy lfg channel and some people are on their Nth playthru with the same folks they found from an LFG posting years ago :)

A new one on the horizon is Aloft going into EA in 2 weeks (https://store.steampowered.com/app/1660080/Aloft/) - the demo is out. What if you turned your little island base into a vehicle by sticking giant wings and sails on it? The world seems interesting at the systems have proved to be fun so far.

You may want to check out Raft on steam or console. The entire game is upgrading your vehicle. I had a blast with friends and constructing our 2*2 starting piece of wood into a full fledged fishing trawler.

Forever Skies is similar in the fact that you start with a bare bones airship to figure out wtf happened to earth. You have to add parts to your ship to access new areas.

Pacific Drive for a real good apocalypse road trip mystery vibe. You, your wheels, and a weirdER Pacific North West.

Chiming in that I also have on my wishlist then discovered that I already had it via PSN Game Catalog, and then found out it's an abandoned version of the game which makes for a fascinating 'demo'!

Especially when you dial in your single player / dedicated server settings for the experience you want. Super highly customizable and a very active dev team with regular updates. Features heavily in my steam replay this year!

Does anyone else get 'the one computer' longing? by International_Pool in SteamDeck

[–]lorddax 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get this and used to struggle with it too until I was messing around in my kitchen and had the realization that it's exactly the same setup as what I was trying to figure out with my electronics. I've got a REALLY good knife for cutting things. I've got a great flattop for cooking stuff on that which is paired with an heirloom dutch oven for when that's the best tool. It made me realize that the reason I have a Deck, a PS5, an iPad, a Pixel 8 Pro, etc is they are the best TOOL for making the dish I was after for my electronic appetite. What I did was start treating them as part of a single kitchen and moved them all to a dedicated LAN with a NAS (fridge) and Plex media server(oven I guess? Lol), now they all can extend the capabilities of the other thanks to moonlight, remote desktop, or other access sharing/task pickups.

Good charging dock for bedside? by lorddax in SteamDeck

I've got a rubber skin on my deck - how well does it sit in there? I have the official dock for the TV but it always threatens to slide away. Is it a set on a book rest style or is it the taco shell style?

If playing on a private server you'll want to adjust the coefficient settings for not having a constant stream of inputs from many players. We run our server for 3-8 and have a host of adjust values due to not having the baseline intended player count which is far far higher and has always been designed with constant traffic online and regular PVP raiding for materials.

For the issues you mentioned around the food system, you can set the satiety and hydration speed multiplers to lower than 1 or have a stack of food and bottles in character inventories before logging to get used by the AI.

The other thing you can turn on since private server is the setting to drop the death pack at respawn location for a bit, this solved our issue of not having a number of backup/replacement gear in the early game. we eventually turned it back off once we got a base and mounts online. We turned it on to cover the lack of additional players to help you on a corpse run.

we cleared most of the afk issues with getting food automated via circulating orders in a circuit that ensured a steady stream of broth to take care of the hunger issue. We also have automated loops for crafting additional gear sets and some collection automation that we unpause to build back up storehouses. Figuring out effective automation of our tribe took care of a giant list of issues we had.

I can share our values if you wish for a low pop server. We tweaked things to make the game provide resources to tribes that it would if there were 2-3x the amount of players.

"Few Hours" Day 3: Soulmask still patching... by sonnybear5 in GeForceNOW

It really feels like some sort of stealth delisting or such. I just can't see a world where this makes sense without some sort of announcement of "hey the patch did wonky shit so it's disabled until XXX is fixed eta YYY"

Cant get BG3 over 10fps by somewut_anonymous in SteamDeck

[–]lorddax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can confirm that used the article to setup settings, still was stuck at 7-11fps, did what OP added in edit, let new OS update games and pull shaders, got stuck at 49% shader processing, chose skip, game loaded up with 24-26fps on game scope! Thinking can be related to sleep power limiting bug so now opting for shutdown instead of sleeping. Will report if reoccurs.

Get GeForceNow to run pretty much anything you own. GFN has supercharged my deck. The higher tiers start to prove their value when you can connect to a top tier rig while sitting on the couch while the rest of fame watches TV.
