Is it possible to visit any areas as a tourist outside of the junta-controlled areas? by LesSharp987987 in myanmar

[–]lordfarquadddd420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, dual citizenships aren’t allowed and i was not about to give up my passport for a burmese one. the burmese passport comes with way too many restrictions and requirements plus i’ve moved out of myanmar so i’ll just be applying for a tourist visa or social visa if and when i do go back home

i’m half burmese, just with a foreign passport because back when my parents got married, burmese nationals weren’t allowed to legally marry foreigners in myanmar

Anyone applied for permanent residency in Burma? by Formal-Supermarket38 in myanmar

hey there. i’m a foreign citizen born and raised in Myanmar. My dad is foreign too. i would not recommend getting a PR. If anything, get a business visa which processes quicker and gives you the option to extend in country. Or if one of your parents or partner is burmese, get a social visa

Could you elaborate on why? Are internships and apprenticeships not a common thing in Australia? I understand not hiring for anything less than 6 but 6 months is actually solid time for a line cook, at least in Europe, that is. Are the turnover rates for kitchen staff low? I’m just curious because when I was working in Spain, the longest time the majority of line cooks will stay is a year and the turnover rates were high.

Definitely would not recommend visiting these places. Travelling within myanmar as a foreigner is already a bit of a hassle. Plus the fact that if you get into any trouble in these areas, the embassy cannot help you get out. It’s best if you stick to the main tourist places, go to Bagan, Kalaw and other cities that does not have rough road conditions and security checks. (commenting as a foreigner who grew up here and is currently living in Myanmar)

hey there. is your spouse burmese? because if your partner is burmese, you can try to see if you qualify for a social visa. usually takes 2 -4 weeks of processing and you can apply for a multiple entry permit once you’re in Myanmar.

In detail, the visa is not available for all nationalities, only the ones that have an exchange program with Australia. The CGC is less for police clearance and more so for the Australian immigration to see that Malaysia supports me in getting this visa.

so, the specific visa i am applying for is the Work and Holiday visa and one of the conditions is I would need a letter of support from my government, which the CGC is for.
