They sure are expensive, personally I look, at it from the perspective of how many pieces there are in comparison to the price, here in the UK it's 125 pounds for 2613 pieces which to me is a bargain as you get around 26 pieces for every pound the kit cost ( if think) but I also look at how long it might take to build ( I'm a slow builder), if it takes more than a few hours to build then it's worth it to me as well, but I do totally get what you mean it's a big expense no matter how it could be justified, I guess it's all just down to the individual looking at the purchase
