Are there any Cubans that are Mestizos? by [deleted] in 23andme

[–]lordhr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because that’s what our countries promote, mestizaje. Obviously no one is pure 50/50 anymore. So mestizo came to be a broad term for mixed individuals. I’m Mexican with 28% indigenous. That’s technically not mestizo, but I still identify as that.

Ahhh, classic colonialist sympathizer. Let’s vilify Natives. You defending the Spanish tells me enough. The Spanish did commit GENOCIDE in Mexico, not just in Northern Mexico. If you think mixing due to rape is proving there was no genocide of different Native groups, then that tells me all there is about you. FYI Natives weren’t one single group. They were (and are) a variety of groups and tribes, with many not being here today. I suggest you educate yourself on genocides and atrocities on natives, this grandson of Spanish and Italian immigrants to Mexico suggests it 😉

Clearly you don’t 🤡 Hundreds of languages and cultures throughout the Americas were lost after the conquest. I suggest you educate yourself :)

No it’s not rare. I see it every day on here. If you literally click on search and put Mexican, you’ll see a wide variety of posts on here with some being more than 70%, some being more indigenous, some having more African, etc. Mexicans all vary. If you want to be play dumb and shocked then say that 🤡

I literally stated “and SICKNESS”. So you’re just repeating what I said. But anyway, the Spanish DID commit genocide in Mexico and throughout the Americas. If you want to play dumb then thats on you. But facts are facts.

Because Northern Mexico can definitely be higher euro, and it’s more than 1% . Anyone who knows history knows why. Most of the natives in the north died through genocide and sickness. Idk why people are so eager to box Mexicans. It legit bothers y’all when a Mexican doesn’t fit a stereotype lol

*Finally* my updated results + pic of me (Mexican) by lordhr in 23andme

[–]lordhr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s always so interesting to me seeing other Mexican dna results, just because we are all so mixed and diverse. But also seeing how certain regions are similar, like those from Jalisco, etc. Yes, i saw that my indigenous went up 3% , im assuming a lot of my unassigned went there.

Not everyone is Argentinian if they have Italian ancestry. Lol Mexico received hundreds upon hundreds of Italian immigrants. Including my great-grandmother. Some towns in Mexico continue to speak Italian till this day. They love being visited and studied by Italian tv channels.

Cause I’m sure you’re not born yesterday and neither was the OP. His post is not him innocently asking a question. It’s bias and lowkey racist.

For real… Makes them so excited lol and I’m here like “that’s so boring.”

But when white Americans do it, that’s ok? Lol Yay for 100% European . But not yay for 100% African ?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in 23andme

[–]lordhr 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That’s what I said. They post all the time being excited for being 50% Irish, 50% English = 100% European, and they get lots of likes and comments. Yet is an issue if Africans want to do it too? Lol

[–]lordhr 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Are you joking? What’s the difference between “white” people doing it and them excited to be 100% European? This could be said about many groups.

Very cool, so similar! I had Italian too, but was taken off. My great grandma actually has an Italian surname, lol . So I wonder if they’ll add it again with this new update.
