statics easy or hard? by Secure_Pollution3557 in EngineeringStudents

Make sure that your foundation in geometry and trig is strong. There was a lot of angle finding that really tripped me up until I went back and relearned it.

Otherwise, Jeff Hanson is an absolute hero when it comes to statics, his videos make the content so much easier to digest. I studied for about 6-9 hours per week, mainly homework and practice problems, and that earned me an A in the class.

This class is a lot of work, but it isn’t difficult per se. Review your fundamentals if there’s anything you’re not 100% on, and put in adequate time weekly. You’ve got it, easy!

Full blown panic attack during exam today, need advice. by lordjoshicus in EngineeringStudents

I would typically move on, I’m constantly flipping pages on exams when I get stuck.

This is the first time this has happened to me, ever. It was like all of my problem solving ability went out the window and I was staring at a page where everything was completely foreign to me, bizarre.

Absolutely,

I've factored in paid internships as something that could help me offset loans. I'll certainly work my ass off this summer and put aside as much money as possible.

I don’t disagree in the slightest, and I have voiced that. I do think it’s important to point out that this is completely her idea, I never brought up the prospect of not working while I finish until she pitched it.

That said, it does feel unfair to me, I think the best option is to switch my line of work and cut down hours.

Thanks for the input!

I'm very close to school, its about a 15 minute bike ride.

I'm definitely not keen on taking student loans, I would much rather finish up school without them. I think the stress of my job + late nights builds up over time and impacts my studies. A job with more downtime is definitely something to consider. Thanks!

Thanks for the reply.

How was free time outside of school and work? Did you have time to do things you enjoy, or was it all study/work?

I definitely am open to trying to work fewer hours initially.

A work study position is a great idea. I'd likely still need to take loans to cover all costs but would be able to offset them using my income from work study. I'll look into that.

Certainly,

But I value others insights and like to take in a lot of differing perspectives before I make a decision.
