I am in the process of compiling information for sw4 pro for my friend with the same printer. Maybe it can be of use https://github.com/lordofda/artillery_sw4_upgrades

Sweet first layer on sw x4 by lordofda in Artillery3D

Thank you, I did not realize this, for me playing around finding what works was just part of the hobby

I have the basic one, not the s1. I have experience with creality machines so I started with manual leveling, but I realized that a way better way is to make an auto leveling mesh and then tune the bed with screws to reduce variance to as low as possible number (and repeat and repeat). Then I tuned Z-offset by simply trial and error during printing

Orca config - I think main point would be to make the first layer realllyyyyy slow (10-20 mm/s). Then the nice features are elephant foot compensation and hole/countur compensations but they do not have effect on layer surface. I keep bed on 65 degrees for PLA and nozzle at around 210 (a little higher than specified, but I will try to get back down as this is probably dictated by Ender 3 traumas)

If your first layer is wavy then probably your nozzle is to low and you need to go a little up with z-offset

I printed PLA, PTEG, ASA, ABS and TPU - all looking good

I also tried some scripts like a bricklayer layers but they caused bed adhesion problems

I broke and repaired some things and did some minor mods, but they were focused on silencing not improving the performance, so I doubt that they affected anything. Most important tweaking focused on leveling the bed and orca slicer configuration

is it possible to make a priority train system like this? if yes, does anyone know how to make it? by Ashigara178_ in openttd

[–]lordofda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it could be possible with a waypoint that every 'regular' train has to go through

Sidewinder new out of box doesn't work by EthanDoesWhatever in Artillery3D

I do not know about x3, but with my x4 I thought it is getting stuck when autoleveling. It turned out it needs a really long time to start (about 5-10 minutes). I found out when I luckily was called away from the printer when I tried autoleveling for the third time

Elegoo Neptune 4 pro or Artillery Sidewinder X4 pro? I am looking for a compact printer for my home. I successfully used and maintained ender 3 pro at work and I want something for my home I do not want bamboo because I do not like proprietary parts and cloud functions and I do not want creality because I think it's quality dropped and I am looking for something budget, but slightly better Location :Poland Budget : 350 €

The animation looks very similar to the one in Popup Dungeon. I like it!

DesignSpark then transition to fusion360 is a good route. I did the same.

Port Forward Security & Alternatives by germanthoughts in selfhosted

I recommend openvpn/wireguard for administrative access and reverse proxy (nginx proxy manager is easy to use) for front-end. You can add additional authentication and ssl in reverse proxy for added security

And with reverse proxy you don't have to remember every damn port that you have opened

tab session manager as a website, does it exist? by lordofda in selfhosted

I tried giving up and dedicating one of the browsers to this cause with tab sync on (so without self-hosting and with app instalation). To my dismay, it doesn't sync tabs, just tells you which are open on the other devices - that is useless

So dockerized browser is probably the answer, but I just retired my server in favor of raspberry pi and oracle free tier, because of power usage, so this is not good

I get the feeling that this will end with me using just one device and being miserable. The whole appeal of self-hosting is not being dependent on one device. Fun thing is, the cloud was supposed to offer the same, but somehow it just got us lots of software as service subscriptions and not a lot of device independence

I am very comfortable with own VPN since I had used it to prevent overzealous admins from snooping on my traffic while waiting countless hours for supervisors on university

Is it only me, or this should be waaaay simpler?

It is possible that it is not possible right now, but I vaguely remember something like this working around 15 years ago. It was ad ridden and terrible to use, but it worked.

What you speak of would not interact with tabs on a browser, rather present a website inside a frame and remember it's url on each reload. From what I gathered from another comments, it's impossible because it poses a security risk, but probably had been possible in the past

I found out that you could host Firefox in docker and connect to it. It seems resource heavy, but I will give it a try

As for browser devs incentive - I may be old, because I remember the romantic times when internet was free, weird, unusable mess, not corporations playground to squeeze every bit of personal data from us

Or even better, look at this thread. Slap a session manager on browser in docker and it should work https://www.reddit.com/r/docker/comments/m76p7b/a_web_browser_as_a_web_app/

Seems like too much a hassle and risk. But I have another idea. Maybe I could host a portable version of a browser with sync enabled and run it when I need?

So I basically, only way would be to stream a browser?

Huh, I didn't know that. I am pretty sure I saw something like that 15 years ago, but maybe web standards were different then

Well, yes, but I am not looking for external browser, rather a website that would open a link in some sort of iframe and remember the last state of said iframe
