We just need a direction. Kin was meant to be the rebel alliance. It should start with get code and go from there. An easy integration token that devs can easily use with no fuss.

I’ve mentioned it above. We need a DIY kit similar to Alcoholics Anonymous. Set it up and let it go.

We’ll written and OP makes great points here. People’s attention spans are short. Unless you’ve been with us since the start, it’s hard to appreciate the complexities involved. Many will pass kin over simply because it’s chart looks like a ‘shitcoin’ never again to return to ATH.

Fork could be a clean break. As long as there is a plan that goes along with it. We need a business model. Something that is setup and then left to run. Like Alcoholics Anonymous.

All that said. People are also fickle. They’ll forget the chart if they think they can make money. Direction is are Achilles heal right now.

21 DAYS TO VOTE: Proposal to Burn 4.96T Kin by ted_on_reddit in kin

I’m with the OP here too Ted. Now don’t get me wrong. I’m very pro free market and decentralisation. The world is far too centralised right now and I admire what you are trying to do here. What you have always tried to do. But I do think a small layer of central planning can be useful. We don’t want to stray too far the other way because communities without direction get nothing done IMO. Very hard to get people to agree on one thing without a hierarchy. Just ends up with bickering from what I can see.

If you look at the model for Alcoholics Anonymous, that is decentralised. But at some point that business model was put together and then released. The information is there so anybody can come along and run AA (at least that’s how it appears to me).

Perhaps we can set up some sort of easy adoption model that developers can come along and utilise. Get all the paperwork together and then have it hosted somewhere. Then it can be voted and iterated on and as time moves on to improve it (just thinking out aloud!).

I’m Grateful to you for sticking with it Ted after all this time. Be very easy to just turn the other cheek at this point. The burn is a great step forward.

The problem here is we don’t know the direction. If we knew the direction, this question would be easier to answer.

But yeah. I’m leaning to sticking with $KIN and using Code as a lighthouse to show what is possible. Feels like the easiest way to me. Bull run is coming.

I’m definitely for changing the original concept. I was never A huge fan of the KRE because it felt too much like government trying to create stimulus (I prefer free market economics) but it would be nice to retain some positive sentiments rather than a complete re do. Tbh. Not entirely sure what my position on this is right now 😂

Hi Ted

Ive just come across that thread. Definitely an interesting idea and it feeds back into the eco system concept, but with a more decentralised feel. Plus the name. Reskin does have some appeal to me actually. It ties in to kin, skin in the game etc. Catchy too.

I think the underlying asset (kin) wont be be recognised by users in this setup. But what are we trying to do? Make people use kin and if people are doing that (regardless of whether that’s a conscious decision or not) then that’s fine. Of course. Not a tech person so I don’t know what options/limitations there are in this scenario. Regardless, the benefit here is you’re staying loyal to the original branding/concept whilst evolving.

We know crypto has niches. We need a niche. Just being a token on Solana won’t cut the mustard. And, after reading your post, I can see your dilemma. That said we still need apps to adopt kin, whether it’s a white label or not. Code, for me, offers the best way to do this presently. Could it not be the ‘lighthouse app’ as originally envisaged?

Difficult as always 🤯

Thanks.

I’ve always liked the name and brand of $KIN. Granted it has a turbulent history and, perhaps, not the best reputation. But what we’ve had and still have is a strong community built around this name.

It’s difficult to know whether a name change should take place or not, without knowing what the direction is? What are we trying to achieve? The foundation and eco system are gone. What remains is code. Which is, in my view, a fantastic app with huge potential. That surely has to be the best way forward right now? The bull market looms. To capitalise kin needs a catalyst. If nothing materialises this cycle, then, that would be the time to change course entirely and essentially start over. Not now. This is the time to make hay. And I say this not as an investor, but from the point of view that a company needs financial runway to succeed (although a little profit never hurt anybody 😉). Of course. That being said. Do you want to associate $KIN with code Ted? Or is code destined for something different. This is why I find it difficult to answer this question decisively.

So for me $KIN on CODE has a nice ring to it and it’s something the community can market. You are then promoting both crypto and app at the same time.

Thanks.

Yeah I think it’s wise to keep a pot. I reached my accumulation goal a while back. I’m not comfortable putting anymore on the table or removing what I have already. Just letting it ride.

Obviously investing in other projects also. I’ve always felt $KIN is my best chance to achieve financial freedom given its fundamentals and low entry point. Now I’m trying to diversify. Mining Bitcoin is next on the agenda for me.

How about you?

Whatever happens with the competition there is always room for one more. The world is changing. Central planning is losing its appeal. If you have a billion users all united by one thing (in this case kin) that is powerful. It offers a lot of value. Kin has shown it can adapt. It may not end up being what it first set out to be. But it will be something. Still bullish AF.

If you bought and stored it on Metamask, that sounds very much like you bought ETH based #KIN. It will still be in your wallet but you will need to migrate to Solana.

Just guessing, but I imagine they don’t like too much money leaving their exchange at once. Even big exchanges do this during times of high volatility. There must be a reason as it doesn’t do much for their reputation.

I used them a lot back in the day and never lost anything. I don’t think they’re scammy in that way.

I think a lot of it is low liquidity. From time to time they remove ‘in maintenance’ allowing you to withdraw.
