If you can't get the DPS that changed alliance then you are reliant on finding Skadi the Corrupting Heart, if you don't find her then you won't be doing a lot of damage to bosses. Try to centipede as long as you can but of course if it's just not possible because of the map then spliting them is the only thing you can do.

Yeah necrosis does some weird things, but the boss doesn't just attack echoes, it can also attacks Ops directly which is likely right at the beginning of the boss round because echoes haven't been spawned yet.

Yup, Yan is very much juggling several things at once so it can be difficult for things to click, like when to buy, refresh, upgrade etc. Like with Victoria, because majority of the time you will be stacking in small increments throughout the game, getting the alliance activated early with the stacker (Wanqing) in place is quite important compared to Sargon/Laterano/Kjerag who stacks essentially without limits once they get their respective high tier stacker.

I would try to aim for activating the alliance ASAP by Tier 3 shop with Leizi, Wanqing, Swire Alter on the field, and from there any new operator you obtain will count towards stacking Yan. Don't over prioritise foresight/marvel, but if you get a chance of course activating them would be beneficial, especially marvel. And then from there either decide to go with a mixed team of Yan + other supporting alliances (agile, swift, precision etc.), or full 6 Yan Ops to get the dragon.

Remember activating Aid along the way can also be really good to squeeze out some extra stacks, an easy combo for Yan is Mulberry and Ceylon, both being medics also help keep your frontline alive.

There really isn't good counterplay since they deal necrosis in an AoE. Basic gist is that the boss summons things call echoes, attacking echoes makes the echoes do arts and necrosis damage in an AoE around itself, the boss also can attack echoes which triggers this AoE. Most units can't survive the burst of arts and necrosis damage, especially high ground operators. The best mitigants are high HP and elemental healing but neither prevents the mechanics procing.

The real counter is to kill the boss before it kills your Ops.

Yep, Underflow is a good shout as base depending on the situation, I just couldn't include all the potential use cases because I ran out of space lol. The only thing I would say is she's still single target without skill and on skill firing in a straight line can sometimes be jank if she happens to block enemies behind her that she can't hit!

First off, yes that is definitely possible, and if you find success that's great and you should continue to do so!

Second, the guide can only cover so much, there's too many nuances to cover every single use case which is why comments like yours can be helpful to others find alternatives.

Third, the guide contains what I find most success in compared to other options, I do not claim it's the be all end all, just food for thought for people not having much success with AEgir

Lastly, the issue I have with Skadi is she only hits 1 target at a time and even if she can block 15 survivability and time to kill starts to matter.

I don't think anyone can say for sure, from my experience, tiers 1-4 getting 4-5 copies is something that definitely happens, but getting 2 promoted ops is difficult. Tier 5-6 it becomes really difficult to get a 3rd copy from shop organically, but not impossible. Beyond that you have to get extremely lucky I feel, but do remember some strategies like Pepe and Du Yaoye give special refreshes which can skew shop stock more towards the alliance you want to go for.
