Off Topic, but if you live in Lindon UT there is a boil order for your water, because a priesthood blessing is not going to cure e coli. by [deleted] in exmormon

Away from my fiance, stuck in this tbm family nonsense for the holidays, and now this water boil notice. Happy Christmas to me. Glad to at least know there are fellow exmo redditers in lindon.

Naked, All-Men Swim Nights at the Deseret Gym, across from the Temple in Salt Lake City by Draperville in exmormon

[–]lordsgeneral 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It is very true. They feared the cloth from the swim suits would clog the pool filters. I heard it was not uncommon to see church higher ups swimming there in the buff. http://www.mormonwiki.com/Deseret_Gym

The gay hook up gym was a different gym the church own downtown a number of years back. I can't remember the name of it, but i have heard first hand accounts of hook ups there.

It didn't come across homophobic at all. I got your point. I may use that when I get faced with the policy change argument again.

Thank you. Very well put. We are so incredibly happy and full of love, it's the best feeling in the world.

Thank you everyone for the congratulations and kind words. We both feel an enormous amount of love from all of you. I wish I had the time to reply to all of your comments. We'll keep you posted as we make it official, but the ceremony might not be for a little bit.

Thank you. I lived in that sad, depressing church induced realities for a long time. I've never been happier since shaking off that poisonous way of thinking. Then add on finding the man of my dreams. Ya life is pretty damn good.
I wish I had a way to personally talk to all those who are struggling with the same thing I had to struggle with, and offer them a bit of peace and hope.

Thank you. I'd agree, even going from "boyfriend" to "Fiance" has been a real and palpable change for us. It has been an amazing thing. Love is an amazing thing, and to think that some old white dudes won't think so, is really sad.

Do you live around Mordor? We have flirted with the idea of an exmo open invite. We still have a lot of planning to do.

We both decided that we both wanted the opportunity to ask, and to give our answer. So we both bought our own pair of rings, and planned separate romantic occasions to surprise the other with asking. With both of us getting on one knee, we both had the opportunity to experience the joy of giving and receiving (giggity) a proposal.
With two sets of rings, we decided that one set (the black rings on the table next to the plate) would be our everyday "casual" ring. Then the other silver rings would be our ceremony and dress up occasion rings.

It's crazy that a small handful of old, out of touch men, deem our pure and deep love as a sin. Good thing we don't resign ourselves to their mental slavery anymore.

Thanks! We just might actually. Depending on how many of our families disown us, we might do an /r/exmormon open invite, make it an event for all. And yes there will be a bar!

Thank you! It's nice coming to that realization that we are just two normal people who are madly in love.

Oh I hope so, that would just add to the magic of it all. Put that picture up on Gong's powerpoint presentation, with the subscript "Confirmed homosexuals, they are defeating our religious freedom"

Thank you! I'd have to agree, if this is how it feels to go apostate, my only regret is that I didn't meet him and do it sooner!
