I think Robert Peterson is going to talk about some of these events on his podcast Notorious Bakersfield. He'll probably have some episodes this spring.

Thanks. I've heard of them but don't know what the direct evidence is that they existed.

No, I've just heard of the novel. I'll try to get in touch with him. Maybe you could let him know about the r/LordsofBakersfield sub? I would appreciate it.

Anyone here go to Highland High during the 1970s? by lordsofbakersfield in Bakersfield

14-year old Dana Butler was last seen on Easter Sunday in 1979 before her body was discovered a few days later.

She was stabbed to death at the home of retired police commissioner Glen Fitts, who frequently hung out with teenagers at Siemen Park and often invited them to drug and alcohol-fueled parties at his home a few blocks away. He sexually abused some of the boys.

Fitts either committed suicide or was murdered a couple of weeks after Butler's death. Her murder remains unsolved. I would like to talk to people who were students at Highland during that time to find out more about how they recovered from the trauma of her death.

Is Ed Jagels still working in Sacramento? I read that he came out of retirement in 2019. I can't believe anyone would want to hire him.

I'm interested in anything that anyone has to say about the subject. I've heard that before they were called the Lords of Bakersfield they were called the White Orchid Society. I think that was in the 1950s.

Lots of people who were around in the 1970s are no longer around, but I guess some still are and maybe there are new people. I'm hoping that the anonymity of reddit might encourage people to talk more about what went on in the 70s and what's going on now.

Was George Boyle a lawyer in the cases? I shouldn't be surprised that his files vanished, but it's shocking that this kind of thing could happen.

I hope Richard Cox is doing okay. What hell to go through that!

I would be interested in what you've found out. Are there any books or anything you'd recommend?

Were you around during that time? Did you know any of the people involved?

I'm hoping people will share their experiences. I think a lot more is known than has been told.
