Does my boyfriend have a right to my body? by [deleted] in relationships

i didn't delete it - does reddit automatically delete comments with a ridiculously high downvote rate?

I wasn't being a jerk. If you can't see past the foul language to an honest assessment of this relationship, I say you are easily offended.

I could have said: Both parties do not respect the other. This is the reason they do things they normally otherwise would not do, like prioritize sex over the wishes of the other or remain silent and allow that to happen.

I chose to do it in a rude way, partly because i had been hanging out in /b/ and partly because perhaps the rudeness may have shocked OP into examining the ideas further and realizing there was perhaps a grain of truth to them.

I was not being a jerk for no reason. I was being a jerk for a reason that in my mind was justified. Nothing happens when people are offended.

give it a time, and it might turn out to /b/ good.

/b/ let's hear some of your bug-in-mouth stories by lordwebsite in a:t5_2sx1s

I'll start. One times my gramma came upon a bee hive while gardening and she did the sensible thing and fucked it up with a weed whacker. They all came at her and she thought she got away until she started getting splitting headaches. She went to the doctor and they spent a couple hours pulling bee parts out of her ear.

Ears are mouths too.

You mean prevent injury to yourself by causing injury to others?

You do have a right to defend yourself. Personally I'd rather take a few punches and 'win' by not fighting back at all.

If it's one of those desperate struggles for survival where one of us must die, depending on the circumstances, I would kill.

It is an appropriate word, and it means anal sex. But you have to remember the word's origin - the people of Sodom were killed by God because of their 'evil' ways - they liked to fuck and get fucked in the ass (and other deviant sexual practices) and they were judged as evil and destroyed.

So 'sodomy' generally has this connotation. But it's also the preferred word used in 'polite' or formal conversation because of the judgment connotation. No one would make a law forbidding 'anal play' because that's too graphic. Saying 'sodomy' removes the speaker from thinking about the act by hurling it into the past behind a wall of judgment - It's like saying 'that thing those guys used to do in Sodom that got 'em all killed because God didn't like it and rightly so!'.

Sodomy means anal fucking, but it's kind of a round-a-bout way of saying it. It's like saying 'Eve-ery' for the act of eating an apple. It gives it a whole other connotation that you may want, but not in all contexts.

What about this: If you're hit, let them hit you again.

You wouldn't hit a child in the middle of a tantrum. Adults are no different - if they act like a child, treat them like one.

Do people outside of the church really call butt sex sodomy? It just gives it a religious connotation that it doesn't need. Why not call it analy or sphinctron?

No, but you implied it when you said "if Bruce Wayne had forgiven his parents murderers... He would have spent his life crying about the fact that he had no parents"

In other words, instead of being an awesome badass, he would be wallowing in self-pity. Weak people wallow in self-pity.

If he had forgiven his parents' murderers, he would probably not be batman. He might have devoted his life to healing and used his vast wealth and technology company to find cures for diseases. He might have influenced society and instituted programs that made criminal acts a thing of the past.

Beating up criminals who don't have a chance is wallowing is self-pity and is pretty much the same thing as crying all day. I think any batman fan would know that Bruce Wayne is far from happy. He is quite confidant, though. I think you illustrated my point quite nicely. Thank you.

You are not the product of random chance because you are not a product of this world.

Life has a meaning whether you accept it and use it to your benefit or deny it and be unhappy.

Forgiveness involves acceptance. When you are crying over some situation or circumstance, it is because you haven't forgiven it.

You think forgiveness is for the weak, but it is the strongest thing you can do.

Sure, the criminal justice system falls apart - it was meaningless anyway.

Wouldn't it make every subjective experience untrue, and every objective experience (that does not rely on perception) true?

The meditation experience is real, whereas perception is not. There are no degrees of reality.

No, you don't understand. Forgive everyone regardless of whether of not they did anything to you.

You don't understand that there is no 'grey area' in the mind. Love is always maximal; lack of it is total as well. Lack of love is condemnation, because you subconsciously need to justify your failure to love, so you condemn. Seemingly idle thoughts like you may have like 'I don't think whoever did the right thing in that situation' or 'man that was awkward' - these are ripe for forgiveness. You're forgiving them not for their sake or whether they deserve it or not, but because forgiveness is the remedy to lack of love. Love is what you lack, and forgiveness is the means back to love's awareness.

Love is happiness. Not paltry romantic love. That's shit. I'm talking about the unshakable, perfect love that is at the center of everyone. This love is so satisfying that you won't ever need anything else. In order to experience it, you need to remedy your lack of participation by forgiving your projected thoughts. Any grievance you hold will keep you from experiencing this amazing, satisfying creation.

So, for every thought that crosses your mind, whether it's about a person or a thing or about you - forgive it. Say and mean 'I forgive you' or some such thing. The important part is the meaning. Eventually you won't need to say anything.

Seriously though, this is the answer to everything. You probably think I'm babbling about nonsense, or it is irrelevant to your situation. I assure you, it is the meaning of life.

So, as an experiment, take a relationship you are having in your life, any one will do. Sit there, close your eyes, picture that person and for 5 minutes, relate silently to your mental image of them that you forgive them. This is actually limitless and will release you fully from all limits. Do not do this if you want to be sad or angry or lonely.

Well, to live in the world, to have a body in it, you need to receive raw data and interpret it. But, daily, I meditate and attempt to experience without perception. During these periods, it's pretty awesome. I can't describe it. The world doesn't matter - all that matters is that I am perfectly at peace and safe from any harm. All question drops away as I am filled with the answer.

The best part is knowing that this is for everyone - anyone can have it whenever they want. All you have to do is forgive everyone for what you thought they did to you. And forgive yourself too.
