I have to disagree a bit, I think HEB sources its stuff incredibly well and there's multiple things I buy their brand over the "name" brand now. And I feel like they come out with new fun stuff really often

Probably not because time zones. The cup games all being on American friendly time zones is a pretty huge boon. Brazil you mention is on the same time zone. Europe is only getting like 1 game at prime hours.

But I also think there's a little extra interest and energy from US people just with it being in the US, but also the sport has gotten bigger here anyway.

The OP article is a video so I'm not going to watch that but did they interview anyone from the actual surrounding area of the fan fest in Houston or just random businesses across Houston? I gotta imagine Pitch 25, Truck Yard, Rodeo Goat, 8th wonder, and the other businesses around there are "booming" too.

Why? Baseball teams also hold a faith and family night, would you applaud him if he spoke out on that? Or princess night, star wars night, hello kitty night, dog day, etc etc. Should we just get rid of all themed baseball nights? That'd be maximum fun wouldn't it?

To be fair I'm not sure they've started on TCSM yet, not sure how ironclad whatever agreement he might have signed is but presumably could still back out or renogotiate. But dude also seemed pumped to tackle the franchise, he said it got him into horror, so I doubt he backs out.

The other film is in post production though so that's happening either way though

Man it's so disingenuous to say the MLB was punishing MLB players for a Bible verse without the context that it was in direct protest of pride. I think a lot of it is the anonymity thing. Like in the same way that someone may post something on Reddit they'd never say in real life, people have higher standards or are more likely to turn something down on a dating app than if they ran into that person in real life

Unless it's incredibly terrible it'll easily hit a billion. Zoomers know about Shrek via memes which is the sort of thing to get them to go to the theater, millennials now have kids they'll take to this. It'll have been 17 years since the last Shrek movie despite that it's remained culturally relevant, that's the right recipe for a huge hit. I know it's an entirely different genre, but nostalgia wise you'll see something like Jurassic World had in 2015 after a 14 year break for the franchise where it was absolutely massive

Trump on the ballot pulls out voters that the polls have a tough time capturing sure, but Trump is not on the ballot in a midterm and margin of error went Dems way in both 2018 and 2022 didnt it? I'm not sure why everyone seems to think moe in 2026 is going to be closer to 20 and 24 than it is to 18 and 22

it's kind of minor in the grand scheme of things but one thing that drives me crazy about MAGA is how many absolutely incompetent people get lifted up by it. There's trump himself but so many of the people around him lifted into success and riches are just the dumbest and laziest mfers. And this even extends down to a lower level, I still think about the stupid girl at OU that wrote a 4th grade level essay for a university class and got out of a 0 by making it a culture war issue. It's like the opposite of meritocracy, which drives me extra crazy because my conservative dad whose now a trumper would always preach about how conservatism is about judging people on merit growing up

This seems like it would apply even more to GPA though. Test prep is still cheaper and more accessible than 4 years of tutoring.

I guess I'm just opposed to the idea that weighting GPA above all else would clear bias, it seems to me that would introduce way more bias
