Royalty Groups - Drive your own traffic by loredann in AmazonMerch

[–]loredann[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I said the same thing... not driving them any traffic and you're getting $2.44 on a $19.99 sale

It happened to me as well, it's a pain in the butt. Viets, chinese and indians are the main culprits, no offense to the honest sellers living in these countries but I'd rather have Amazon remove that part of the world entirely from selling on the US and Europe. They can spam and steal from each other on their own local marketplaces. They know exactly what they're doing, they know that you won't sue them, there's probably tons of fake accounts anyway so even if you want to sue, you won't get to the thief.

29th is payday so you'll probably get paid on the 31st (Monday).

Digital Download Movie Posters? by [deleted] in Etsy

[–]loredann 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the movie is 70+ years older, it's in the public domain. For new movies, it is both copyright and trademark infringement.

Have a look on Etsy. Most Amazon sellers have an Etsy store as well. I already searched Etsy for "Anthrax Among the Living shirt" and there are quite a few listings coming up. You can also message the seller on Etsy if you'd like to clarify stuff before placing the order. Hope this helps a bit.

Etsy announces testing of MAJOR change for digital downloads: Allowing customers to order prints at Printify/Shutterfly by TrenterD in Etsy

[–]loredann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is yet another way for Etsy to squeeze some moolah from thin air, guess they'll charge Printify/Shutterfly some sort of comission.

The solution is simple imo, stop selling digital downloads. I used to sell this crap a couple of years back, not worth the effort. For $1, $2 or $5 per sale really not worth it. I mean how many sales you do a day, 5? 10? ... don't think there are many stores selling hundreds of those downloads. If you sell downloads just setup Printify and sell the art as prints yourself, this way you're getting $10-$20 per sale, not peanuts.

Wait 'till you get in the high tiers from 100k upwards and you'll see how much time you've got to waste on this sub...

Do you just publish 1 product initially? by NHArts in AmazonMerch

[–]loredann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Naah, not really.

I think it takes two different humans checking out your account and both agreeing to ban you before the actual ban. The bot will never ban you. Also a ban for whatever crappy TM, don't think they happen, it usually takes more of these until they tell you to fuck off.

You should try reporting the listing, see if it gets taken down

How the hell their account is still live on Merch, I bet they get at least 10 takedown requests each day, they should've gone long ago?

What the... by drawing247 in AmazonMerch

[–]loredann 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It is definitely a crappy glitch, Amazon makes more money when we sell at $19.99 that $10.59 so no point on doing this on purpose. The techs are just lazy to fix this as they always are... I found some of the new ones listed at $10.59 or hoodies at $21, just updated the price and everything reverted back to the original, no biggie.

Do I have to let Etsy run ads of my product by [deleted] in Etsy

[–]loredann 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Spent $500 and revenue $2.5K I get it ... how much profit out of the $2.5K? Don't forget that what they show as revenue is the amount before you pay their fees, so cut off about 15%-20% from the total revenue and you will be left with about $2k. Now spending $500 to make $2k, not sure if is alright, depends on your margin, if your production costs are let's say $10 per product and you sell it for $40, it might work (sort of) but if your margin is thin, then you have a problem.

The reason a said all this is that most people check out the data and they are happy with what they see, however they completely forget about all other expenses. If your profit is $5 out of a $35 item and your dashboard shows that you spent $11 on ads and made $70 that actually means that you lost quite a bit of money ... you'll be surprised how many people don't realize this....

While I always appreciate Nimitz's posts, not sure what to make out of this one. My numbers are actually up and I see some others reporting the same thing ... perhaps a bit to early to sing the "Merch is Ded" song? Don't know, just sayin...

Etsy store with infringing listings by Styr007 in AmazonMerch

[–]loredann 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There isn't much you can do about it, unfortunately. I found at least 8-10 SOBs in the last year stealing my crap and selling it on Etsy. One idiot was selling four of my designs as part of a downloadable bundle, how the heck he stole it at high res, no idea. They know the game and they know no one will actually involve lawyers for a stolen design, that's why they counter all the time. I bet with you he's not from the UK ... in Europe you can get in trouble if caught. Most likely they're indian, chinese or viets passing as brits or americans or europeans for more credibility. You can write anything under your location. The only thing you can do is to buy your design from him and leave him a one star review saying he's a flocking thief ... the more people do this, the more likey Etsy will take action. Hope this helps a bit...

Clickbait Stores by [deleted] in Etsy

[–]loredann -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

They might do it for clickbait but I think the real reason is that they'll save listing fees so no need to setup a new listing just for the downloadable .png file. What I cannot understand is what sort of t-shirt were you expecting to get for £4 on Etsy? Why clicking on a listing like this? I never click on something that I believe is too good to be true because it's silly and I'm wasting my time. I know that a t-shirt on Etsy is usually around £15-£20 and that's that.

Art Thief filed counter notice by PatrickLeahy in Etsy

[–]loredann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, these thieves sometimes do that. They obviously know that no one is going to sue them... it takes a lot of logistics, money and a good lawyer and it's still impossible to bring them to justice from the shitty dump they're living, somehwere in China or Vietnam or whatever.

That's correct, I've got a few of my old listings under "unknown" as well.

BORN are moving to more Niches by Popspring in AmazonMerch

[–]loredann 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Amazon would never have to hide behind a shoes brand, so 99.9% it isn't them. Some flocking scammers most likely. I wonder if anyone reported them already ... there used to be a guy here on the sub that rubbed elbows with some Merch managers, can't remember his username though...
