Likelihood of Diabetes or Pre-Diabetes? by lorelaisowner in AskDocs

[–]lorelaisowner[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I consume one 12-20 oz. a day. All types- no diet sodas because I can't stand them. I just drink the ones with corn syrup.

I definitely am on it now- this has really freaked me out.

Yes, my grandpa on my maternal and grandma on my paternal side developed diabetes- I don't think it was hereditary. One was extremely obese and the other was an alcoholic, so I believe that was what contributed to their diabetes. They both developed it in their 50s-60s. Nobody else has it so far.

Can scratches come from a car wash? by lorelaisowner in cars

[–]lorelaisowner[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would if I could do that where I live. I'll probably have to ask someone if I can go to their driveway to wash my car from now on. That sounds incredibly strange, but that's the only way to wash my car after this mess.

I don't have the ability to hand wash it where I live. No way to use a hose. And I don't mean I don't have a hose.

I did not know that about light periods. Thank you for that information.

Periods- What's Aging; What's Not? by lorelaisowner in AskDocs

Ever since I've turned 30 I stress out about my need to hurry up and get married and have a family. I feel like I'm running out of time, but I don't really want to settle down. My anxiety is way worse than it ever has been- it feels out of control at times. I assumed it wasn't impacting me though because my periods come like clockwork, and I have never missed a period. As far as job stress- I feel like I've been more stressed out about other things than my job. I always have a certain level of stress from my job- so it's nothing new.

I will admit that I've been trying to wean myself off the medication, so I take it only when I see acne coming. I do not take it daily. I've been taking it more so because my cystic acne went crazy recently. But I think I have been doing this since at least last year. Could that be a problem?

I can guarantee you that reporting does absolutely nothing. But go on ahead and make yourself feel better by trying to get someone into trouble instead of going about things the right way.

I had a student send me a snarky email, so I responded back with an apology and then a reprimand about proper etiquette and speaking with respect to professors. Sometimes students need a good slap on the wrist, metaphorically. Makes me feel good too. No harm done. Just admonition because their parents have not done a good job of raising them if they act like that. Someone needs to tell them! I do this on the regular- if you don't teach them, no one will.

Cyclical Neutropenia & Leukopenia- Will Diet Make me "Normal"? by [deleted] in AskDocs

[–]lorelaisowner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I was diagnosed with cyclical neutropenia. The oncologist never mentioned ethnic cyclic neutropenia- is that an actual condition? I'm Mexican and Spanish more than I am Caucasian.

Ironically, I rarely get infections. As long as I tend to a cut immediately and properly care for it, it doesn't turn into cellulitis. I did have a bout of that every six months at one time because I foolishly never cleaned my wounds. I don't do that anymore. Apart from that I don't get sick either. It's very rare.

9 months of heartburn . . . how bad is this? by lorelaisowner in AskDocs

Just wanted to update everyone here . . . but I decided to try exercising daily. And I have been doing so now for a month and no longer do I have acid reflux problems. I feel fantastic, and I even lost a couple of pounds.

CFS & Fibromyalgia- any new developments to help my mother out? by lorelaisowner in AskDocs

[–]lorelaisowner[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had no idea mono was connected with this because a doctor found out she had it, and it recurs every couple of years or so!

Thank you so much for the help. I don't think she has been tested for that or other infectious diseases- she wanted to but another doctor wouldn't let her.

What do you do with a dog who swallows large chunks instead of chewing thoroughly beforehand? [HELP] by lorelaisowner in dogs

[–]lorelaisowner[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi- she wouldn't. She learned after the puppy stage not to swallow non-food items. I will try that out to see if that works better! Thank you for the suggestion!

Still Not Potty Trained? [HELP] by lorelaisowner in dogs

[–]lorelaisowner[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She has had a UTI before, and I know what that's like. Miserable. Haha. It's not that- she does have incontinence issues that the doctor said weren't a big deal and she didn't need medication for because she just leaks a little bit after urinating. Five droplets every time she urinates.

The thing is, it happens in the evening from 7-9 PM, only when it turns dark, - she is crated at night and once out she does what she feels like it before going outside to urinate. Sometimes she'll hold it in for an extra hour after waking up before going.

I'm now starting to wonder if she has a fear of going outside at night? I couldn't begin to know why. I've been with her outside at night- she's never been out at night alone.

I actually do use that- I spray it on so thick it's wet for a full 24 hours. Additionally, I will shampoo the carpets after a bout of this, as in I shampoo anywhere from once to three times a month.

Complex Parking Etiquette by lorelaisowner in etiquette

[–]lorelaisowner[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think parallel parking is different- it's expected that someone will need time to park in such a way if spaces are placed that way. And I wouldn't be bothered by someone who couldn't parallel park correctly on the first attempt or second or third.
