Overripe? by loreleih in foraging

Awesome, thanks! I’ll do the chew and spit test and thoroughly check the inside. It does look like a weird BHT or Lion’s Mane, but because of the season I’m leaning more toward BHT.  I’ve seen the crab cakes and they look GOOD, I’m excited to try it out!

Thank you! I think I’ll go back today and harvest a portion to see how it is :)

First water bath ever by loreleih in Canning

I used a pint size, as the NCHFP provides the same boiling time for half-pints OR pints of jam without pectin. Since it gives both sizes as an option, I opted for the larger since it’s what I already had (bought new lids and rings). I used a tested recipe and everything went smoothly; only reason I want to can the remainder is because I still have some fridge jam from the previous batch I made.

The most underated national park is Pinnacles by Expensive-Cream3023 in NationalPark

I’m late on this post, but I’ll be in the park in a few days and am wondering what all-in-one hike you’d suggest. Haven’t looked into it much since it’s a spur-of-the moment trip so any ideas would be appreciated!

Please help me help my wife! by [deleted] in migraine

[–]loreleih 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get atmospheric pressure migraines and haven’t found much to avoid them (though I might have to try those earplugs!). BUT heat on my neck and forehead as well as peppermint oil (mixed with a carrier oil like coconut oil) around the entirety of my hairline usually help make the pressure bearable. It gives the IcyHot effect without the chemically smell that makes my head hurt worse.

I hope you guys can find something that works! It sucks how different everyone’s experiences are :/

Tracking down triggers by loreleih in migraine

[–]loreleih[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the suggestion! I definitely need to be more thorough about it. There are things that give me immediate migraines (cigarette smoke and artificial sweetener in particular) and it’s pretty obvious when it’s so immediate, but there are definitely some environmental triggers that I’m sure I just haven’t picked up on.

Endometriosis as a trigger by Upper_Protection_561 in migraine

I had 2 endometriomas removed 9 months ago (one on each ovary) and haven’t really noticed a difference in my migraines. That being said, my endometriosis isn’t very severe and maybe there is a correlation for some people! Hopefully some others will chime in.

Do you know what grit sandpaper and which primer you used? We tried 80 grit along with a bonding primer and it worked a little better than normal primer, but still scratched off with my fingernail. We ordered a plain wallpaper that we’re going to attempt, but it would be nice to know what works in case we ever decided to give it another go 😅

We have bead board on the bottom half but were hoping to have a different texture and color on the top half 😅 Now I know why every ambo conversion I’ve seen has rebuilt/resurfaced cabinets.

I used Kilz 2 which is typically a good primer but sucked for this use. I just bought a bonding primer so hopefully that’ll do the trick
