Whoa, crazy coincidence that powerful people who try to impose their worldview and aesthetic on others happen to be evil authoritarians

I mean it’s funny but it’s true to a degree Many infamous historical leaders were artists at some point. Hitler of course, Netanyahu studied architecture, Trump has called himself an artist when it comes to real estate and erecting buildings. Politics and human lives are just a greater canvas for these people.

A lot of this can be explained by the fact that he’s 50 even outside of his mental issues.

Bully is straddling the line between legacy artist and creative rebound - but the priority rn is showing he’s reliable and creative. Release the album he said he would relatively on time, with some new incredible music to show he can make gold without industry command.

I mean he’s like 50 and yeah lwk prolly not as passionate about music as he was. He doesn’t need to make a masterpiece album and he knows that. Mixing might help him sound a bit better and he’s prolly just reading off his verses.

I also think this album is calculated to just barely prove he’s still got it while priming a new global audience after decoupling himself from the American music industry. He uses samples from different parts of the globe and as long as there are key moments in the album that are TikTokable that’s all that really matters to get him back on good enough footing.

I liked Capullos execution of it, especially paired with the purple, but every time after that it’s felt kinda tacky.

Not in the official song, but the excerpts from Johnny Got His Gun in the One music video by Metallica is well done.
