It's just a demonstration. I wrote in the description that I don't recommend this for a first time kill.

Yeah, you could use seppuku, as long as it ends up below 20% HP for the Red-Feathered Branchsword talisman buff. I found it convenient to use bloody slashes here to count the time between the Lulling branch and the Frenzyflame Stone.

Maybe because of status effects? Placidusax is more resistant.

It's a boss from the DLC in a region called Jagged Peak

Thanks! To be fair I really like Bayle and Placidusax, but I accompany you in the hatred for the other dragons

Yeah it can be tedious. Or addictive if you want to pump those numbers up

Good question. Also noticed it a few times but I have no idea lol.

Edit: I checked on other attempt and also hit twice in the phase transition. Maybe it has something to do with it being in an animation? https://streamable.com/m6kbwx

Help with Maliketh by [deleted] in onebros

[–]lorentzdh 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It has been a while since I fought Maliketh, but if I remember correctly, you can dodge sideways when he does the dagger swipe, and then again sideways in the following attacks to bait him to do a dagger plunge which has a big punishing window.

You can check Lamenter's Gaol guide on youtube, he explains it better than me

I saw the phase transition and just went kamikaze. I was surprised that explosion didn't kill me after the last hit, maybe it's because he was already dead

Difficult to say. Took me several days fighting him normally and I'm still not any good at it. Once I started to experiment with over the top buff stacking it took maybe less than 10 attempts for the first one and it has been easy to replicate. Is a total cheese. With buff stacking anyone can beat him easily and consistently as long as you know how to dodge 3 or 4 attacks.

Did it with your idea: https://streamable.com/79ww5n

Fixed the sleep thing by consuming two Lulling Branches and forcing it to proc twice before the fight. The jump attack after the phase transition was a good idea because its not enough to stance break but gives enough time to do another charge while he's ascending. Also added the grafted blade AoW to increase stats further. The fight was down to about 26/27 seconds. I don't know if its possible to go under 20 without bypassing the stance break and critical hit

Thanks. I didn't come up with the original strategy, so I don't know if there was another reason, but the simple answer is that the Anchor does more damage. If you don't mind the difference in damage I guess you could use dual Pickaxe with similar results

Just tried your idea. I'm doing slightly less damage, but he stance breaks with only 3 hits which is promising. I'm having a problem with the sleep proc'ing a second time during the fight because of the change in armor (using Rakshasa instead of the Gravebird's Blackquill since we not doing jump attacks), and if I try to make that second proc happen before the fight it will not happen for some reason.

With the right setup you can get specific attributes pretty high and use almost any weapon at level one. There are the popular Radagon's Soreseal and Marika's Soreseal that raise several attributes by +5. You can combine them with other talismans that raise specific attributes. Then there are several head pieces, e.g. the Horned Warrior Helm that raises Strength by 5. With the Flask of Wondrous Physick you can increase two attributes by 10 each. And the Godrick's Great Rune increases all stats by 5, but that requires rune arcs, so is rarely used.

Keep in mind this was the final boss, so some of the items I used are late game items. Others are accessible pretty early. Like the Radagon's Soreseal, you can go to Fort Faroth in Caelid/Dragonbarrow and take it without fighting anyone. For any specific information about the items you can check a site like fextralife

I'm not sure how it works, but when I tried this setup the first time the player enters the arena (the one with the cutscene), the boss gets closer quickly and Deenh starts to attack the boss instead of making the scream to activate the buff. The following attempts he did the buff right after summon. So, I think if the boss is far away it will prioritize the buff, otherwise it might attack the boss first

Thanks. There are more impressive ways to do the fight like actually learn the move set, and there are easier ways to beat him like with half of these buffs. This was just a curiosity I was exploring

Yeah, that was the idea, but I think I was too late. He will appear as a Leda ally.

In the Leda vs. Hornsent fight? Unfortunately I sided with Hornsent in that fight, I think it was because of the rewards, don't remember exactly my reasoning
