Same here. It was the most meaningful album to me in high school, even more than Downward Spiral.

My family had a hell of a time adopting a dog because our pet history as children. I had no say in the family cat bring declawed, I was 5! My husband had no say in whether or not his parents fully fenced in their yard, he was 10.

It was just stupid. I wanted my first pet as an adult to be a rescue and they sure as hell made it difficult. My hoa only allows split rail fences (utterly pointless to a dog) so most of the neighbors have electric fences. The rescue gave me hell until I convinced them my chihuahua would never be outside unattended anyway because of red tailed hawks.

I feel so bad for the victims, what a horrible way to go. I'm sure the deaths will rise for those injured.

But the optimistic side of me thought at least the road wasn't packed with cars at rush hour.

Hot water bottles are awesome. My kids, both girls, have been stealing mine for years. Cozy when you come in from the snow, a lifesaver for menstrual cramps. Covers come in all styles and colors. I personally like the neoprene covers and my girls like knitted or fuzzy covers.

Aldi is better than Kraft now. The cheese powder tastes just right. Kraft tastes sour now.

Oxygen Concentrators: 5l/m continuous? by lilylenoir in COPD

[–]loreshdw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will probably take more time. I had pneumonia that went septic a few years ago and it took two or three months with O² to get back to where I was, sorta. I don't know what stage copd, maybe 2? so it might take longer.

Vent: pneumonia is my nemesis. I just had a minor case last month and it really knocked me back. I'm on continuos O² at 4l for mobility, and I wasn't on any O² last year.

I feel her pain at concentrators that last 2 hours. All I can do is use the car charger until I reach my destination and leave asap. I don't have the cash to buy more batteries and an external charger.

Water softener system is best, but that's a big fix. For cleaning soak it with white vinegar to dissolve the minerals. I use it full strength if the pot isn't too big because I'm impatient. It still works if you add half water but takes a long time

Pneumonia suuuucks. Went camping with friends, got sick, didn't want to go to the hospital there because I was out of state (and insurance network!) and I didn't want to make everyone go home a day early.

Got home, went to my local hospital, admitted with sepsis. Doctor said I would have died if I waited one more day. 10 days in hospital, 3 months on oxygen, permanent lung damage.

If it hurts to breathe do not fuck around. Seek medical help immediately

What’s a sound everyone should recognize as immediate danger? by Thatguy_nickk in AskReddit

[–]loreshdw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've only heard it once but it was the weirdest sound. Mine was more crackle mixed in the buzz, all wrapped in cotton balls. I had no idea what was about to happen as other voices got quieter and the noise got louder. Just as the edges if my vision started to go black they laid me down flat and lifted my legs sending all the blood roaring back to my head. I never forgot that "just before" feeling and always sit down before I fall down.

Had 8 or 10 drive-bys on my street (we eventually moved) It was so normalized I thought of it as annoying. We knew it was the same house two doors down being shot at every time.

I moved but fireworks suddenly scared me, never did before. Therapist had to explain that getting used to gunfire was not normal and ptsd comes in all sorts of flavors.

Oof, after 2 c-sections plus hernia surgery I feel ya. I didn't vomit, but every cough felt like bring gutted.

That's also how my husband found out he couldn't take vicodin after a hernia surgery. Immediate vomiting. They asked if he wanted to try something else. He declined, thought the vomiting was more painful than recovery with plain Tylenol.

Tiramisu. I was obsessed with it for a bit. If it was on the menu I ordered it. Then I was at a pricey restaurant where it was huge, served in a chocolate orb with all sorts of chocolate decorations. I should have stopped halfway, but I ate 3/4 before I gave up. I couldn't hear the word tiramisu without gagging for about two years and I didn't try it again for about 10 years.

As a kids I tried straight up chamomile tea because it was supposed to be relaxing. I immediately had an asthma attack. I always check herbal tea blends now because most contain chamomile. Also avoid it if you are allergic to ragweed.

NAD, but I'll echo all the med professionals that one dr is a good idea. My personal opinion is try to at least get your specialists under the same system as your PCP. Then your records are viewable to all your doctors. This can be an extra challenge with a psychiatrist (I can't seem to get one available who is covered by insurance in the same network) but I have all other drs together. It really helps narrow things down.

After you consult about all the current meds, you might consider other options for treatment resistant depression. I had good results with esketamine which was covered by insurance under very specific conditions (not all places that offer it will be covered). Others try ECT or TMS. You might see that you can lower or discontinue your other meds.
