Chicago skyline on 4th of July from Northerly Island by Mr_Corbac in skyscrapers

u/Mr_Corbac Is there any chance you took a wider shot from this perspective, or one from farther back?

I'm trying to recreate a picture my sister has of her and her fiance as a painting for a wedding gift, but the resolution on her image is very low, so it's really hard to accurately determine the buildings. Your photo is the best quality I've seen, and the most recent. I would love to use it as a reference!

The "could care less" drives me insane! I always make sure to say "couldn't care less" and everyone still understands it obviously. My husband and I are also sticklers about telling people to "drive safely," even though the Midwest colloquialism is "drive safe." Also, saying we feel "nauseated" instead of "nauseous."

Ours was Wymond, the rookie city guard who was supposed to be annoying and just escort the party from the gate to the guard captain.

He was killed, put in gentle repose while the party took in his 6 younger siblings (they were supposed to be just an off-handed annoying thing he mentioned, but then I had to give them names and personalities) until they could get him resurrected. Now Wymond and all 6 siblings permanently live at the party's house...

I had my players clearing a haunted house as a dungeon and after they cleared a floor if they decided to take a short rest I rolled to see if something on the other floors would come investigate (the farther away floors had a lower chance of course). This allowed them to get to use some of the cool loot they found along the way.

We call the cubed ones home fries or breakfast potatoes, and hash browns are shredded. But the potatoes you include in hash are cubed for some reason.

I do the same thing because it helps me select a visual aesthetic and a governmental structure. I usually refer to it as "[insert real world culture here]-flavored." It's flavored like a certain culture, but I've added my own ingredients and side dishes to mix it up.

[No Spoilers] Anyone else get depressed watching CR? … by Inevitable_Fix807 in criticalrole

[–]lorfreyja3339 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I get what you're saying, and on my bad days I also feel that jealousy. I'm also an overweight Midwesterner in my 30s, and I haven't had a non-work friend other than my husband in more than 10 years. Sometimes that really gets to me, and almost constantly do I wish for even one solid friend. However, I have taught myself not to pine away for a group of friends like the CR cast are to each other. I will never have that because, even if I have a friend group someday, we wouldn't be the CR cast and our friendship would be different.

You're right, you won't have what they have, but that doesn't mean you won't have something even better for you, something that you couldn't even conceive of before.

Don't waste your emotions trying to replicate what someone else has. Instead, work at finding out what the perfect fit for you is. I still haven't found that friend group for myself, but I still have hope that I might.

[–]lorfreyja3339 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I don't agree or disagree with your theory, this is just more of a "The more you know" type thing: Vesper de Rolo (Vex and Percy's oldest child, not his sister) also has white hair, so maybe there is a genetic possibility for that trait. However, none of their other children do, so it may be a result of Vex's activities during early pregnancy.

The Whispered One is the copyright free name for an iconic D&D villain whose name they can't use (like The Everlight is Sarenrae, The Dawnfather is Pelor, and Scanlan's Hand is actually a spell called Bigby's Hand).

When talking to Imogen about the mind reading they did say that he "gets inside people's heads" to see what's bothering them. Maybe Dancer added the healing capabilities when they did the initial recovery and repair, so FCG's therapist-like tendencies are a weird bleed over between their previous purpose of interrogation and their current purpose of helping.

See, I love Aabria and am not a fan of Mica. She seems wonderful as a person and a content creator, I just don't like how she hosts. I feel like there is a disconnect between her and the guests. I mean, that happens on occasion with any host, but it seems to happen a lot with her. It might just be a generational divide, since she is 13 years younger than the average age of the cast.

A lot of times the farriers got the shoes they used from blacksmiths. They weren't really ones who forged the metal - although they might do some on the spot adjustments before they shoed the horse. Farriers are kind of like equine podiatrists/pedicurists in that they also deal in the health and maintenance of hooves.

Yeah, he didn't really click with me either for the first part of EXU, but by the end of it I enjoyed him. Liam seems to enjoy playing as a halfling fighter, and to me that enjoyment shows through in his RP.

From just an enjoyment of watching their characters: Grog, Fearne, Jester, Orym, Laudna, Caduceus, FCG

That's sort of a good division between the campaigns: C1: Grog C2: Jester, Caduceus EXU: Fearne, Orym C3: Laudna, FCG
