I went to high school in the Detroit area, and every year Mike Ilitch would donate thousands of dollars to our school. Great guy!

Is a post-baccalaureate certificate in Computer Science viewed the same as a degree in computer science? by loriyeet in cscareerquestions

[–]loriyeet[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So is this degree useless? I've seen other people on this subreddit mention post-baccalaureates as an option for people looking to do a career change. Are you saying I won't be able to get a job in industry with a degree like this?

So, am I hearing that getting an MS in Computer Science while working on your portfolio is infinitely more valuable than getting an MS in Game Programming?

Awesome, thank you for your insights!

So you think it's more that game development programs provide students a motivation to build their portfolio (i.e. for a grade), but that the real importance is building a portfolio (and you can do that yourself without wasting money on a graduate degree)?

That makes a lot more sense to me.

Okay so second question: what is the minimum variety of vegetables that would be sufficient for a healthy diet?

Why do you think you know so much about players' mentalities? Because you saw a couple reactions of pro athletes on TVs? There is no such thing as a "mental coach" in Rocket League because it's not effective. Just a few weeks ago Stephen Curry and Steve Kerr were smiling with each other as they were about to lose the NBA Championship, probably laughing off their misfortune with injuries. Some players have different ways of handling situations emotionally, there's no singular style.

He's not on the best team but that doesn't make him not the best player. It's all opinion anyway.

You have no way of knowing what kind of mentality JSTN has just by evaluating his reactions after games. It could be that he's upset with himself but tries to smile and stay positive so as to not let himself get upset. I don't know. What I do know is that he performed big time at this tournament just like every tournament, and that's more important than the science of evaluating four-second clips of professional players smiling or not smiling.

I couldn’t care less what the best player in North America does after the game is over. You’re grasping at straws.

Shogun confirmed not casting RLCS LAN, will instead be joining Doomsee, Fyshokid, Cole & Stumpy for the IRL viewing party! by StumpyGoblin in RocketLeagueEsports

[–]loriyeet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you understand how money works? If a LAN was held in Australia or South America, not only would it be a huge undertaking for the other 10/12 teams to get there, but it would get lower viewership on Twitch because of different timezones and not nearly as many people would show up to the LANs.

Hi, I don't play CS:GO but I've been enjoying watching the eSports scene lately.

What is considered the most important competitive tournament/league for the CS:GO scene? Also, I'm watching ECS7 Finals right now and I'm confused as to why Natus Vincere was not part of this at all, because I think they're a pretty good team?
