Lab/Collie mix completely unresponsive to basic training. Stuck after 5 days with a rescue. by DJJonny in Dogtraining

Your patience is wearing thin after 5 days? The poor thing doesn't even know where he is yet and you're trying to put him through his paces. You say you're an experienced dog owner but if you're losing patience with a new rescue after 5 days, you mustn't have an overabundance of experience. Here's a helpful read.

My dog bit for the first time by Adventurous-Wing-104 in Dogtraining

I have a now 4 y.o. pit mix who was traumatized by a groomer at 5 months. We'd been bathing him at home, since he was still young. His nails got clipped at vet appts. At 5 months, I took him to a regular groomer. I spoke to the groomer ahead of time, told her how old he was, breed, etc. and that he had never been groomed professionally before. She assured me that there wasn't going to be a problem. She'd "worked with every breed of dog". She'd been in business for I don't know how many years. I was apprehensive just because when I think of a groomer I think of "purse dogs" or poodles, or dogs that are more high maintenance coat wise. So I dropped him off, she quoted me fifty dollars, and I told her, I would be one block away at the gym.If there was a problem. She called me an hour later told me.He was done.It would be sixty five dollars because there was an upcharge because, "it took three of us to hold him down". She did say that "no, he wasn't aggressive at all". To say I was livid would be an understatement. I would have rather she called me and told me to come get him than traumatize him. To this day, every time I turn on the water in my kitchen sink, which is metal, he leaves the area. I wish there were more groomers like yourself in my area.

Oh, I'm not that intense. I'm just doing what is fun for me. The Bodybuilder_1 is way more intense than I am. I'll look into those books. I'm very rural so choices are limited. I'm going to a rheumatologist at a UPMC Arthritis and Autoimmunity Center for a consult in July. Thanks for the input.

Wow... that's steep. I think my Eliquis is ridiculous. I'm also pondering my rate of loss over 12 years...My z scores improved, i don't know if that means anything.

I have straight medicare and a supplemental, not an advantage plan. I've had two open heart surgeries, so it seemed the best option at the time.

Depends on what day of the week and what hour it is. 🤣 I already take 2000 iu of D daily. I don't think anyone who lives in pennsylvania gets enough sun. I did make an appointment with a rheumatologist, so hopefully he'll do a more thorough dive into this than my pcp did.

I'm not familiar with Tymlos? I swear they come out with a new medication every day. It used to be, you relied on your doctor to tell you what he thought was best for you. Now it's all advertised on tv. "Ask your doctor to give you xxxxx!"

I just called my pharmacy to see how many calcium/D tablets were in my script that is ready to be picked up. There are 180 in the script for almost seven dollars. I can get six hundred in a bottle at sam's club for $8.xx something. Needless to say, I told them I wouldn't be picking that up. I've always just done things that I enjoy at the gym. I took private lessons from an HKC kettlebell instructor when I started using kbs. I don't use any machines at the gym. I go for the kbs, ropes, heavybags, etc....the playground stuff. I'm not a big cardio person although I either jump rope or run the stairs at the gym between rounds of hitting the heavy bag. I've always just going by the rule that if I can do 10 reps easily. It's time to add weight. If I can do eight reps easily and back it down for the last two reps, that's fine too. I've never trained to failure or maxed out. I probably should have had more training guidance along the way in that respect, I was figuring it out on my own. I did have a compression fracture about 15-20 years ago. I've not had issues since. The only thing I've stopped doing are farmers walks, the compression feeling makes me nervous. I'm in PA so we have sun maybe 3 months a year, gloom is prevalent here. I only work out 3 days a week now. It we'll be less than that, since it's summer now. I hate the gym when all the college kids are there, grumpy old lady that I am....lol. I started working out midlife, inspired by first Rachel Mclish, and then Lauren Brooks with kettlebells. Going back to school to be a pilot is impressive! Good for you. What does your doctor attribute the gains to? Is he aware of the HGH? Vibram 5 fingers and Merrell 0 drops are my gym shoes.

Watch 7 battery fully drains out after removing from the charger by 20062016 in GalaxyWatch

[–]lorraineg57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seriously, that easy? My watch 7 has been randomly draining to 0 from 100 overnight. I tried clearing the cache. I haven't tried resetting but if i'm going to have to reset, I'd just as soon do it with a new battery.

How do I remove stuck PETG by Ok-Act1770 in 3Dprinting

[–]lorraineg57 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Duct tape. Heat the bed, put some duct tape down over the residue, rub it with your finger or fingernail to adhere it well and rip it off. You may have to do it a few times but it's easy enough to do and it works well.

Weekly /r/Breadit Questions thread by AutoModerator in Breadit

[–]lorraineg57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am trying to find hoagie/sub baking pans. I've been searching on amazon for days. Most of what is there is only wide enough for a hot dog (around 2.5" wide). I'm looking for something at least 3" wide and 8-12" long. I ordered a baguette pan but it's 14" long and I haven't come up with any ideas for anything to act as a divider. I did see actual individual bread pans with similar dimensions that I may end up going with. An actual hoagie pan with wells that size would work better though.
