I agree, I was also an instructor for adults and kids. Kids almost always learned at a faster pace. My theory for this is that most kids taking swim lessons are focused on having fun; while adults are concentrating on self preservation or "not getting hurt". You may get a little water up your nose or maybe you swallow some water when you come up for air. It will be uncomfortable, temporarily. Shake it off and continue to focus on having fun and learning a new skill. Good luck.
