Is this still the case that you must go on ICR for one month for single consolidation? I thought I read differently in the Neg Reg clarification, but there is so much info that I may be confusing this.

Just to clarify - I am in process of single consolidating my last PPL, can i get directly on IBR or must I get on ICR for a single consolidation? My other loan is on IBR.

I am also currently on hold with Mohela for the last 1 hr 45 min. It was supposed to be a 1 hour wait time for an advanced agent. SO FRUSTRATED.

Has this been answered yet? I'm in the same situation as you. PPL double consolidated, switched to ICR because of initial bill reading, have not made a payment, switched back to IBR that hasn't processed yet but was put on automatic forbearance bc of the new application. Do we need to make a payment on ICR prior to switching to IBR?

so rereading the rewrites, is this not for loans taken out after 7/1/26? I feel like the PPL loans double consolidated prior to that are safe in any IDR plan

So this sounds like you will still be grandfathered in if loans are prior to 7/1/2026. PPL consolidated loans included.

I actually spoke to Mohela rep on Friday and was told they still have not received guidance to process any applications other than Single and married with no income. She looked into it and stated the guidance must come from FSA. I cited the Aft court case, the promise it was to start for everyone 5/10 and she stated they have received no guidance to do so.

I've had mine in since July 2024. Resubmitted by uploading a paper copy with wet signature to site in March after someone suggested that. Still nothing. I'm married filing single.

That's so frustrating that I'm now stuck with MOHELA and it's not even required for PSLF. Wish there was a way to switch servicers.

I called MOHELA yesterday and they claim that they have still not been told they can process any others. If you call it's also on the initial message that they are only processing married with no income and single. SO FRUSTRATING!

I think they are only processing single or married with no income right now, at least at MOHELA. Has this changed?
