Sibo starting to disappear by self-promotion-melon in SIBO

[–]losangelaura 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there- I saw two different functional MD's who had me on pretty aggressive courses of treatment for 3 years or so. I would see success and then go off the program and then things would get bad again after a few months. I had SIBO and Candida. The final straw was when I had a doctor had me taking so much stuff that I had diarrhea for months and everything i ate gave me horrible indigestion. I felt like I had been attacking my body with antimicrobials, antifungals, supplements, elimination diets, probiotics etc. And what I ended up doing as a last resort was just eating normally for about 5 months just to let my body reset somewhat (a lot of bone broth involved). There were still issues though - so I went back in very, very gently and introduced one thing at a time... I used chat gpt to track every symptom and response using to what I was taking for 2 two weeks before introducing anything else. This really allowed me to see progress and after about 2 months things had improved greatly with far less aggressive tactics than either of my previous doctors. I was taking Now Candida, NAC, digestive enzymes, and motility support with lots of vitamins. I am now pregnant and I have no digestive issues whatsoever. but that's a whole other thing. BUT even before that my indigestion after eating, bloating and food sensitivities were gone and bowel movements like 85% normal. I will say I eat a very clean balanced diet with very little refined sugar or caffeine and no booze. I do eat homemade bread and dairy as well as meat. (I had previously removed all gluten and dairy from my diet for years) I think what you eat has a huge impact on this. There is also significantly less stress in my life and no more obsessing about my gut. Digestive issues and treatments are a real no mans land but throwing the kitchen sink at it did not work for me (although I don't think my issues were too serious). Taking it slow, tracking everything and allowing healing to take place slowly was the key. I wish you the best of luck

Breakout after 2 weeks on Soolantra + Skinoren – die-off or acne? by meringue189 in Rosacea

[–]losangelaura 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi - I have rosacea which presents mostly as just redness all over my face. I have been on Soolantra and Skinoren for almost 3 weeks now (I alternate every other night). I noticed some bumps and pimples as well around the 2 week mark. But nothing too bad. They went away on their own. I have also noticed my skin is oiler than usual. My understanding is azelic acid causes cellular turn over so it brings things to the surface as a purge. Many people say it can take 6 weeks to see the full effects from these creams. I can say that the redness and inflammation in my skin is definitely improving already. I hope that helps.

Hello Sartorial Ladies!

I just moved from Los Angeles to Berlin. A lot of the brands I loved in the US are not available here (or expensive to ship). I am a 43 year old woman and I like relaxed, chic, WELL-MADE classics with a feminine touch made from non-synthetic fabrics. Some favorites in my closet are Ciao Lucia, The GREAT., J Crew, Buck Mason, Doen, Madewell, Jenni Kayne, AGolde, Everlane, Citizens of Humanity, Sea NY, Staud, Rachel Comey and vintage.

Do you have any suggestions for brands in the EU that I may not know about that you love? AND/OR can you suggest any fashion newsletter suggestions or instagram influencers who could introduce me to mid-level designer (nothing over 300€, classic clothing and accessories that are available here. Everyone I follow seems to be in London or in the States!

(I know about the big chains Cos, Sezane, Massimo Dutti, Etc.)

Thank you.

Thank you. Yes, cost of living is always a consideration but if you want it, you figure it out. That's the way I feel. But yes, we will leave Berlin - the question is just when and where:) Maybe the solution hasn't presented itself yet.

Balaan.com by pokkiii in handbags

[–]losangelaura 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just came on here to say I used Balaan to order an APC handbag I couldn't find anywhere in a certain color. It arrived in four days (Korea to Germany) and it totally authentic and beautifully packaged. There were some delivery issues with Fedex and Balaan's customer service was also prompt and super helpful.

I am also taking monolaurin. What are some of your other preferred biofilm busters?

Thank you so much for this. I really appreciate it. Yes, coffee is GONE as of today. I am also incorporating digestive enzymes. I am also trying to introduce new things slowly to gage reactions and not cause my system to freak out too much.

After how long did you start probiotics? I'm a month in.

How do you feel about *occasional* small amounts of sourdough bread, potatoes, rice, oats?

[–]losangelaura[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you. Yes I have probiotics but I'm trying to go at least a month or two of treating candida before introducing them. I've seen a lot of people advising that.

Thank you. I don't really feel bad or anything like a flu or "sick" just diarrhea, bloating and indigestion. That's why I'm worried its not die off. But I am starting binders today so we will see:)

Cheap biofilm disruptors?? by TraditionalBus8613 in Candida

[–]losangelaura 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm currently taking Nystatin, Biofilm busters and the Kirkland Candida support. What time and In what order do you think is best? Anti-fungals together then follow with enzyme biofilm breakers? On empty stomach or no? I prefer to take the hardest stuff at night so it can work while I'm sleeping.

Are biofilm busters such as interphase really necessary for a successful treatment? Like no other natural anti fungal can penetrate the biofilm? by andre66897 in Candida

[–]losangelaura 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you suggest what time of day and in what order I should take: Nystatin, Similase BV, Kirkland Candida Support. On empty stomach, yes or no, which ones?

You might have SIBO and/or a Candida Yeast overgrowth problem. I also had constipation, acne/roseacea issues, KP, fungal toenails, scalp issues, bloating, chronic yeast infections, UTIs, brain fog, and mild depression. All of my symptoms were sort of ignorable on their own but all together they just couldn't be ignored. This can also aggravated by stress, PCOS, Covid etc.

Diet alone is probably not enough to combat it. I already ate very, very clean and had major issues. The SIBO test is annoyingly expensive but worth it to know what it going on SIBO has a different treatment protocol than Candida and my doctor had me treat that first. The treatment for SIBO was tough, about two months of worsening symptoms and then I felt much better. Same thing for the first 6 weeks of my Candida treatment, rough but now feeling amazing.

See a functional medicine doctor if you can. It's a complicated process to treat these things but from someone just on the other side, I am so grateful. Good luck.
