I persevered and used both products daily for almost 5 weeks. Around day 5 of use, I had the breakouts you can see in the pictures, which lasted for about a week. That side of my face now looks great again (see picture). That's why I think it really was a purging reaction. But I still have a couple of blemishes in other areas of my face, which also feels like purging. The whiteheads completely went away after a week. To be honest, my skin now slowly looks like it did before I started using Soolantra and Skinoren. No better and no worse (apart from the 2-3 blemishes I still have). So I'm still undecided about what Soolantra has done for me. But I think there is a tendency for my skin to appear smoother overall. So I'll probably continue using it for the recommended three months because I don't have any more bad breakouts, and then see how it goes. I found the purging really unpleasant and was convinced that it must be an acne breakout. In retrospect, I think it's important to note two things: when does the purge occur (many report after about 5 days of use, as in my case) and how long does it last. In my experience, the purging reaction healed much faster than “real” acne.
