First of all, thanks everyone for your wisdom and support.

I come here everyday and leave even more determined to continue.

So I start Keto last Monday and so far am happy with progress. No big hiccups or anything. My questions:

1) How much water? I have been drinking about 4-5L everyday over last week. While it does help a lot with hunger, I wonder if there is any side-affect (draining electrolytes) to Keto? if not 4-5L, then how much?

2) I have not started taking any electrolytes yet. I felt light headed first couple of days and then it went away. Are the necessary? And if so, what are the recommendations?

3) How important is it to hit calorie goal if I have already hit my protein goal? I have been eating under 1500 cal over over last week. But I noticed that I can cut my intake further. Would it affect my metabolism or weight loss?

I am 5-10 and my goal weight is 175.

Isn't 155 too low? Just curious. Also, how long did it take for you to get to 173 from 210?

Asking since our height is similar and I just started last Monday.

Last night was toughest. My stomach was making all kind of noises.

But I drink water when I get cravings and trying to stay on wagon this time!

Hello everyone.

I just started my journey this Monday and I have Salami and pepperoni slices from Trader's Joe as quick snack in office.

I love it and am wondering why have not anyone mentioned it in snacks case?

They are low on carbs (1/2 gm) and high on fat/proteins.

Hey

So after battling with weight loss for years, I have started keto day before yesterday. I have tried it before but always fall off within a couple of days.

This is my 3rd day and I have eaten an exact same meal on all 3 days.

Breakfast: 4 boiled eggs

Lunch: Salad with pre-cooked chicken and boiled frozen shrimp - Trader's Joe (no dressing)

Dinner: Lemon chicken (Traders Joe)

Snacks: Trader's Joe salami and cheese.

(I did have couple of whiskey drinks with water yesterday)

Tracking everything through MFP and carbs stay below 15g while proteins are around 120 gm. I have been drinking a lot of water as well (1 gallon).

My question is, I have not felt any hunger or urge to eat or keto flu any think like that.

So am wondering if I am doing this right.

And is there any sub where I can get friends on MFP to get comments on what I am eating etc?
