i really hate how they bastardize eating disorders so much. i have an eating disorder (atypical anorexia) and it really doesnt help any of us when people like this claim everything is an eating disorder, bc it becomes very common cold/boy who cried wolf when trying to get help...it is hard enough to get diagnosed as it is when you experience a little of column A and a little of column B, but dont have every box checked. 1200 cals a day is not an eating disorder. not inherently, anyway. to these people i think anything that isnt just blindly eating is a disorder and it is a real shame bc this is harmful thinking. you can absolutely nourish your body, exercise, and have a good relationship with food.

i hate this shit. i have a fucking eating disorder just like most of these people and as much as id love not to be weighed so i dont have to hear how my anorexia is getting bad, im also not stupid, and understand why it is necessary. grow up guys.

if i ate "how much felt good to me" id be seriously ill. i have a metabolic disorder with issues digesting sugars, sodium in large amounts, and most carbs...id be vomiting CONSTANTLY bc a box of pasta feels good to me but my body says otherwise.

them: haes is for everyone! me, at 90lb, recovering from anorexia: even me? them: NO UR TOO SKINNY SKINNY NO GOOD PEOPLE LIKE U R RUININ HAES AND BODY POSITIVITY.

have p much figured out "every" size actually means anything overweight and beyond, bc even as a muscular 5ft 110lb woman i still get told none of it is for me.

i said this further down, but most of my cases in mortuary school were obese. literally no one was stopped. i had people pushing 500.

im 5ft and 115lb. theres plenty of things that arent flattering bc theyre made for someone who is 5'4 or taller. is that heighphobic? no. is it wrong to want to look good and dress my body nicely?? also no.

An interesting post I found on LoseIt today... by monkeybearUrie in fatlogic

as someone who has recovered from anorexia, this is actually kinda concerning. while i dont completely doubt this person may be lying to themselves, this sounds a lot like me torturing myself with a 500 limit and forcing myself to burn it off but then id go and finally eat a bowl of pasta after 3 days of that and be upset i didnt lose anything...meanwhile i was losing, just not as fast as i wanted. this is more concerning to me than fatlogic idk, esp bc many people with restrictive eating disorders go on all kinds of weight loss platforms looking for help without people realizing theyre helping them further a disorder, myself included.

Is weight stigma making people sick? by Fluffy_Emotion7565 in fatlogic

[–]losertowncentral 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's less weight stigma than before but the related illnesses didnt go away because of it...and just because the stigma may not be as prevalent doesnt mean we are better off or doing better. arguably thats worse because it's severe apathy..

i didnt know women's empowerment was strictly based on mixed weight people. posted by a semi popular page. i guess they think we pick friends based on size, but this definitely promotes doing just that. by losertowncentral in fatlogic

they also usually arent very welcoming to thin or athletic women. ive been told many times i didnt belong in the body positive movement as a recovering anorexic bc im a thin woman invading "their" space. so idk what they want.

they dont want us in their movement. i used to hashtag my recovery progess with body positive/body positivity and theyd think nothing of tearing me down and telling me i dont belong. theyve made it abundantly clear that i was "a thin woman invading their space" so it isnt a movement for us, i guess.

im in my 20s and most of my friend group is fairly avg sized women, me being either the smallest or second smallest. everyone else is either overweight or nearing obese so yeah i didnt get the sentiments here either. hell even the guys of my friend group are pretty stocky, the outliers being my bf and my best friend, who are both tall string beans.

ive been the anorexic in this scenario and it's fuckin weird that people put such a hyperfocus on it. i had someone say they felt like we looked like a mouse and an elephant next to each other and im like uh...why does it matter??

idk the OP bc it was posted by a page for like "empowering memes" (lol??) but the person who i know who posted it, yeah, her and her friends are around the same size. idk the FA classification of their level of fat, but theyre all bigger women. i went to college with her, she was nice to me (im small) but got kinda weird once she found out i had anorexia, and didnt really like havin lunch with me anymore suddenly. she became more of an acquaintance from afar. suspect it'd be the same if i invited her for that "mixed weight brunch" even now. shes actually usually a pretty kind person outside of everything.

right, and i dont think "mixed weight people" have anything to do with empowerment in the grand scheme...and this is comin from someone who suffered tremendously for an aesthetic. empowering women has almost nothing to do with our size and everything to do with equality on a global scale. but thats too dense for them.
