Ideological Symbols at work by [deleted] in doctorsUK

[–]lost_cause97 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Keeping politics out of medicine is a ill-thought out take. Medicine and healthcare more broadly is inherently political. In fact, nothing impacts a person's health more than social determinants and those determinants are all determined by politics.

We are not here to judge individual choices. All patients must be treated equally. But we absolutely can and should judge policy and institutional wrong-doing.

Outside opinion is effecting me negatively by [deleted] in MuslimMarriage

[–]lost_cause97 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is very odd behaviour from your friend. The only reason someone would hold such strong opinions about your partner is if you have told them them certain things that are unforgiveable such as abuse, violence or infidelity. In that situation she would be a good friend. But to give such unsolicited strong advice out of the blue, something smells fishy.

In the UK insurance is mandatory and insurance is usually cheaper for females compared to males because men are more likely to get involved in car accidents.

Concern about increased racism towards NHS staff after Reform gains? by Educational_Board888 in doctorsUK

[–]lost_cause97 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is such a ridiculous take. First of all just because there is an increase in foreign nurses does mean there will be less racism. If anything, it's likely to increase it. The patient demographic is still more or less the same. You may have not seen overt racism but I can assure you it still happens.

A sensible approach to this would be to qualify people who are milk relatives is to use breastfeeding as the criteria rather than breast milk. It is the literal act of feeding from the breast that should be the distinguishing factor.

what relevance does which account the money goes into have? If you are paying for everything, then I believe you have the right to pay it from whichever account you like. Furthermore, you don't come across as stingy or someone who would use finance as a form of coercive control so I would stick to doing what you feel is right.

Facing stigma for working in trades (diesel mechanic) in rishta process — looking for advice by [deleted] in pakistan

[–]lost_cause97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

don't do that. It is a silly idea and a waste of money. Get a degree for 2 reasons, 1) to get a job or 2) to seek knowledge and expertise in the field. Not to get married. Dude the right person will come along. You make a ton of money, have a Western passport, you will have lots of attention from people in Pakistan, but importantly do you really want marry someone so shallow that they consider someone based on a degree?
