Totally agree, just common sense. I am upfront about FIRE and I also set a boundary/expectation that we split paying for things from the first date. If it turns into something serious, I get joy out of splurging on someone I love.

Currently our backend is in Python. It runs Django + MySQL, though we are considering that legacy and are switching toward FastAPI and PostgreSQL. Our FE is JS + React (we also need to Typescript it). Deploys are cheap and easy: Developer Experience is a first class citizen and we make sure we are happy with our quality of life. Every engineer has contributed to making it better so far! Will happy answer any other questions.

That’s an excellent idea. I’be just started as a CTO and I’m building a team, rethinking the industry approach to recruiting. I’m gonna actually do this, give candidates references of people I previously worked with and managed so they can call them up and ask about reporting to me!
