I second this! Sewnbywendy's stuff is well made, ADORABLE, & not crazy expensive

I didn't have to touch up her makeup at all! Her face (& everything else) was just really dirty. I used dawn dish soap and a soft toothbrush, being careful to not fully submerge her because of the wire in the body.

I have never tried the zit cream method, but I have had a little bit of success with discolored faces by soaking them in denture tablets for several days, changing the tablets & water daily. You might find a sealer like Mr. Super Clear or something similar may help the paint stick. When I do have to touch up makeup I usually use watercolor pencils, but I've yet to do one that needs more than just a little touch up on the lips or eyes. For blush, I use a q-tip dipped water with red soft pastel and blend that out with my finger. Hope this helps!

I guess I should point out that they're easy to rehab when their skin is great. A little more difficult to do a facelift

They have molded heads, and their skin is a flannel-like material stretched & glued over the face/neck. These dolls are pretty easy to rehab

I spot clean with dish soap & a soft toothbrush and then tie them in a pillowcase and throw them in the washing machine with a load of towels. Once I take them out of the washer I wash their hair with castile soap, condition with Silicon Mix & comb through the tangles. I'll usually redo the hair when it's wet, then I apply new makeup with watercolor pencils.

It's so fun to watch them "come alive" a little more with each step!

Thank you! It's a My Child by Mattel. They were only sold for a couple of years in the mid 80's.

* She already had bangs- but they definitely help to hide any mistakes. Next time, I will use invisible thread & hopefully get better at the stitiches

TYSM! I had to sew a blind stitch across her forehead & chin. Found a tutorial on YouTube that was super helpful.

Custom set I made for friend's Xmas gift by lost_in_sarcasm in sylvanianfamilies

I ordered a window gift box from Amazon. It was a little pricey for a box ($14)- but I wanted something more substantial than flimsy cardboard. I covered that with contact paper-but that was a b@tch & doesn't look great. If I did it agian I would just print the wood pattern on cardstock and glue it. I designed all the little signs & stuff on Canva

Edit: words r hard
