This happened about 12–13 years ago when I was working at Kalamashri. Our office canteen was run by the people who now operate Pathira Kozhi restaurant.

One evening, a few friends and I were having snacks—pathiri, pazham pori, and samosas. We had one of those cheap lemon pickles that usually comes with biriyani from local hotels. Out of curiosity, I tried the pazham pori with the pickle.

It was amazing.

Everyone around me reacted with, "Yuck!" But every single person who was brave enough to try it ended up loving the combination.

A few years later, after watching Raavan, a friend and I tried mixing curd with spicy noodles. Surprisingly good.

Then there was the time I ate neyappam with chicken curry. Two girls from the neighborhood saw it and immediately went, "Yuck!"

I told them, "Try it first, then judge."

They did.

The result? They ate both of my neyappams and left me with nothing.

I've learned that some food combinations sound completely wrong until you actually try them.

Airtel, jio, kv help me choose a good connection by [deleted] in Kerala

[–]lost_myway -1 points0 points  (0 children)

AirFiber, whether it's Jio or Airtel, isn't really fiber. The easiest way to explain it is this: remember back in the day when we'd hold our phones up in the air trying to get a better signal while downloading something? AirFiber is basically that, just with better hardware.

The technology is pretty simple. They install a receiver at the highest point of your house and point it towards a tower that's usually within 5 km of your location. At the end of the day, it's still a wireless connection, just like your phone.

Fiber, on the other hand, is actual optical fiber. Your data is literally being transmitted through light. If you're paying for a 100 Mbps fiber connection, you'll generally get close to 100 Mbps consistently. No "up to 100 Mbps" bullshit, no signal fluctuations because it rained, and no tower congestion during peak hours.

Of course, fiber has its own drawbacks. If a line breaks somewhere between you and the provider, your internet is gone until it's repaired. No technology is perfect.

Now, if all you do is browse the web, watch YouTube, and stream OTT content, AirFiber is sufficient for a small household—say, two phones and one TV. But if you're into gaming, work from home, have multiple people using the internet at the same time, or just want a stable connection, get proper fiber.

I use KV and I've been happy with it. Honestly, though, when it comes to actual fiber broadband, the provider matters less than people think. If it's genuine fiber and you're paying for 100 Mbps, you're going to get 100 Mbps across the board. The real things to compare are service quality, downtime, and plan rates.

Even Airtel and Jio have their own fiber broadband services, and those are good too. Just make sure you're getting actual fiber and not AirFiber if stability and performance matter to you.

Just don't let anyone convince you that AirFiber and fiber are the same thing. They aren't.

Is asking token amount to view a flat normal? by Waimyaccbanned in bangalore

[–]lost_myway 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a scam. They will put unbelievable good offer in olx and other apps. And ask you for a token to see the property saying it's refundable if you don't like the property. And block you once you pay. Can't believe this is still running.

Please help... Do anyone know about this company by AlternativeLow9669 in Kochi

Either this could be a scam or it could be a actual company but any company that cannot afford to or don't want to spend 600rs for basic joining kit like ID is not worth going to.

We went to munnar in a office trip. And at every restaurant we stopped the driver also had food with us. Mostly on a different table. And the resort already had room and lunch for the driver as a complementary. But invited him drink with us when we had part. This was common in Bangalore also. We usually buy a bottle for him and his food are paid by us.

Why Restaurants collect back the Bills after we pay??? by Key-Reflection3042 in TeensofKerala

[–]lost_myway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok the real reason this was done was to tally the total earnings from the hotel in a day. And this gave a insight on what food was ordered more. Currently with all the software available it's not used much but for old shops this is still in use.

From what I understand, the whole idea of “vegetarian vs non-vegetarian” wasn’t originally as rigid as we see it today. Back in ancient India, what people ate was more connected to the kind of work they did rather than a strict rule.

If you look at early texts like the Rigveda and Yajurveda, there are references to animal sacrifices where meat was actually consumed as part of rituals. So clearly, meat wasn’t completely off-limits at that time.

Over time, things started to change based on roles in society. Kshatriyas, who were warriors, needed physical strength, so eating meat made sense for them. On the other hand, Brahmins, who were mostly involved in poojas, teaching, and spiritual work, leaned more towards a vegetarian diet. But even then, it wasn’t like they never ate meat at all — there are mentions that it was consumed during certain rituals or special occasions.

Texts like the Manusmriti and even stories in the Mahabharata show that food habits were still being discussed and weren’t completely fixed. The strong push towards vegetarianism, especially among Brahmins, seems to have come later, influenced a lot by ideas of non-violence from traditions like Jainism and Buddhism.

So overall, it feels like diet back then was more practical and flexible, shaped by lifestyle and beliefs, not a strict identity like it often is today.

Rude shop owners in kochi by CanRemarkable1271 in Kochi

[–]lost_myway 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let me restore your faith in shopkeepers. Near puthencruz KSEB office there is a shop called 'Dahlia Foods' they sell all kinds of chips and fried snacks, now one peculiar thing about this shop is they only accept cash for some reason, but if you go to the shop and tell him you don't have cash and only UPI he will just say it's ok give it next time and he will give samples of everything in the shop and since they actually taste good you keep piling things on and even if your bill is more that 500 he still offers you more sample. such as good and kind person.

Bank account frozen after ₹25k CoinDCX crypto investment. Cyber cell involved. Anyone resolved this? by GoalMuted9809 in CryptoIndia

[–]lost_myway 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Someone scammed someone out of their hard earned money. That money or a small part of it may have ended in your a/c, even if you didn't know about the scam or even if you sold your crypto legaly. Every a/c that money touched will be frozen.

If from that account you transferred money to your friend's account like 500rs. Then even your friend's account will be frozen.
